Ok I just heard from one of my across the ocean friends that we Americans are are a bunch of lazy bitches and bastards and  and we eat too much fast food (are you laughing yet @ElectroNymph?). Hence we have a new thread. I commit to posting a new recipe at least a couple of times a week. Most I'll pull from internet and if I have a creative way in which I modify the recipe I'll add that too.  Please contribute your recipes and comments.

Also, my friend has a great suggestion, in that we should post traditional American recipes which have been passed down through the generations. I hope we get some posts!!!

Oh dear. I am overweight myself and we have loads of fast food. Still, great idea for a thread ?. Looking forward to hearing all your recipes!

I love it @Pooner2013 and I will try to add a recipe or two if I get a chance. Already have one I just made and it got a thumbs up from the husband. I'm looking forward to your recipes and will definitely try them although roast beef is special occasion only around this po folks home.

@2earls, ha-ha 2E we are pretty poor too. Still not working but just started looking - wish me luck !!  That thing I posted was a new recipe for me. I typically just do a crock pot - pot roast. I'm going to post that recipe too one day. I like my own recipe better than what we tried tonight.

I love this! And I'll follow with interest I love traditional American recipes. We Scottish contingent also have a very similar reputation that we just deep fry everything. Our famous deep fried mars bar for instance ha!

Well I actually just ate one. I just made a simple, yet unique burger. It was ground meat seasoned with kosher salt and coarse ground pepper, garlic powder, and worcestershire sauce. That's not all unique, the unique part was the topping I chose to put on the burger. That topping was bacon jam and baby swiss cheese. Mayo and pickle and that was all.

Traditionally, you would put lettuce tomato pickle and onion on a seasoned burger patty with either ketchup, Mustard, or Mayo.

I personally have to have cheese and bacon on my burgers. I Really love grilled pickled jalapenos as well.

Cant beat a mustard jalapeno bacon chz burger.

Oh, and Butter the bun and grill crispy.   That's how I do it.

@ElectroNymph, @Natty has a nice recipe for seasoning burgers. I'm in the south and we like to do us some grillin' down here. I grilled some filets last night and pretty much used the same seasoning combo Natty mentioned for the burgers. I also wrapped in bacon. I love grilled food so much I'm an old school grill baby. I use charcoal - no gas grilling for me. I can't give up the flavorful taste of charcoal so I don't mind getting dirty and smelly - I just shower afterwards.

I don't believe I have earned the title "chef" Although I have had approx. 15 yrs hands on cooking experience. I have had the title of a Sous Chef at one point in my career. I just never finished college and earned that diploma in culinary arts. I had many great teachers along my way, therefore, looking back, it would have just been a waste of money imo. My executive chef said it would be a waste as well. I have much more to learn. Honestly you can never know everything there is about cooking. But, one thing I do want to get involved in is the cooking with cannabis. Here is an example; the show "Bong Appetit" produced by viceland/munchies... Dream job. Its just not legal in my state yet.

@Natty   You cant put a price on experience!  You are prolly more qualified to be a chef than most people that leave a school with a diploma.   I am a woodworker, but I have never gone to school to get a diploma that says "Craftsman" on it.  I find, trial and error and experience to be the best teachers.  Your burger, sans mayo, sounds absolutely delicious!!

I usually season mine with salt, pepper, garlic powder and then I mix in a little A-1 steak sauce in the mixing process.  They usually turn out pretty good!!

  4. Alkazar @ Alkazar: @NYStateofMind I dont really have a history of abusing things, my docotr is just really stingy. I am thinking of switching.

  11. N @ NYStateofMind: @xenxra I was on Adderall since 15 years ago so my dr prescribed that w no problems and then when I lost my best friend my doctor rxed the valiums but
  12. C @ Cheesus: Temp.pm down for anyone else?
  13. xenxra @ xenxra: @NYStateofMind my doctor's have always been pretty open minded if i can actually come in and explain the pharmacological action of the drugs im seeking instead of just telling them why i think i should be prescribed. the only time it didn't work out for me is when i was trying pharmaceuticals for depression ten years ago and suggested they let me try testosterone instead (turns out i was hypogonadal so they made a mistake denying my request at face value)
  14. T @ Testisthebest: Even down here in Florida when the pill mill docs all switched over to Suboxone and/or retired you can still find some pretty liberal docs but you gotta know what to look for. Mine does "pain management, detox, anxiety, etc. And no insurance. My doc writes me 60 5mg Valium, 14 2mg Xanax and asked if I had ever tried adderal to get more focus at work as I told him I run my own business.
  15. N @ NYStateofMind: @Alkazar do they know your history? Like I dont tell my doctor anything about myself except what they need to know,...I was able to get my dr to rx the highest dose of adderall along with valiums ..... if they dont know your history or there is no history I would just come out and ask what is the reason for their mistreatment.... they have no problem billing your insurance or taking a payment for the visit
  16. T @ Turbo259: @Layne_Cobain Thank you fam
  17. Alkazar @ Alkazar: It is INSANE how doctors treat tax paying hard working people like criminals when they ask for opioids. This world just keeps getting more and more backwards. But thanks to this site to be able to find people to help when no one in the medical world will.
  18. L @ Layne_Cobain: Hang in there @Turbo259 life can be such a Fkn sludge prayers and good vibes to you and your loved ones 🙏 ❤️
