TT's site will not be considered secure by today's standards until they update their certificate to reflect the new name through their provider, install it so that when you click on "Click here to Enter" you no longer get an error.   The mismatch must be corrected through a third party, trusted certificate provider's new certificate assigned to the new name.  With regard to how secure they will be is also, to some extent, dictated by the level of encryption the certificate provides.  A 2048 bit cert rather than a 256 bit cert, for example providers more complex encryption and therefore greater security.

It's a simple process to fix this, really, but the certificate installation must be performed by someone technical enough to know how to do it. If you opt to proceed to the site (past the warning) you will have an opportunity to view the particulars of their certificate, the validity dates, certificate provider, encryption level and you can clearly see that the problem is just a name mismatch.

Just geek stuff, and I expect TTM'll get it sorted it out quickly.

The big question is whether they will be left alone once it is.

Thank you for pointing me to the image, I appreciate it.  But port 80 in and of itself is not truly a secure port correct?  It's vulnerable to an intrusion attack at least as far as I know in my limited knowledge of this... -
Yes, you are absolutely correct. I am not sure of a exact percentage, but I would say port 80 is probably the most used port for malware, etc. So, even if a transaction is encrypted IMO the odds of a hacker getting your personal info would be higher then port 443 which would be used with a proper SSL.

Fine, then what's your opinion of the email tt2 sent me in response to my inquiry about the SSL & security of transactions?
I know this wasn't directed at me, but I'm going to say they could have answered the question a bit better personally. I wouldn't expect them to offer up all the details, but they could have said whether or not they were working on getting and new SSL certificate in place. As someone else pointed out, by today's standards the site is "not safe" but this is due to the mismatch on the SSL and nothing else.
I have made it home from work finally and can confirm that the site is using port 443, which is a secure port. So they are correct in their email to you, it is secure.

When I've asked questions, I got prompt answers with some personalization of the response, too, That is pleasant and reassuring - but the actual explanation portion seems like a prepared statement that perhaps customer service is provided so explanations are worded consistently and uniformly to all customers - Do you know what I mean?

I'M NOT SAYING THAT TT DOES THIS AND HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF HOW THEY OPERATE ANY OF THEIR SERVICES.

My mind just tends to analyze and pick up on little details sometimes.  Maybe it ensures everyone gets the same info.  Etc.

It is the feeling I've gotten from all their emails to me.

I'm not saying it's good or bad. I like the personal touch. They have been accurate in the past with answers.

I still felt like doing a snoopy "happy dance" when I heard they had returned.

finally! we got the new URL!

No it's actually a series of numbers with a couple periods but now you mention it, it looks almost like a general ledger account. Perhaps it is my bank's foreign transaction GL account number. Regardless, I need to make a call. Thanks for the idea, it may end up being that.
By the way, I wanted to update to clarify that the unrecognized charge was in fact a transaction fee, it just wasn't labeled correctly by my bank, hence the series of numbers. Thanks @halflife for the suggestion. Glad TTM didn't sell/lose my card number though, gives me more confidence for the future.

I'm going to poke my head up above the paraphet and echo a suggestion made a couple of pages back - if at all possible (and as far as I'm concerned, it applies to *all* IOPs) use a pre-paid credit card. Touch wood I've not been burnt, but it's always possible given the nature of the beast. In the UK it's kind of sucky because Virgin (the only one that did VISA) are re-issuing their cards to existing customers as Mastercards and a lot of IOPs don't take the latter. There is a foreign currency one (it's done in USD) available that's VISA though (moneysupermarket and all the comparison sites have lists of them with all the pros and cons), and certainly here if you're careful you don't get screwed too badly when it comes to fees. I don't know what the prepay cards are like in the US, but it's certainly a lot safer IMO if they're available.

I'm really glad TTM appear to be back online, because I've (touch wood) always had good dealings with them. Fingers crossed it stays up, is still legitimate and they get their remaining security issues sorted out.

Yeah, I got 2 emails from TT as well. One was to inform of their url change to www.ttm2u.com, the other (which i am assuming was an accident) was nothing more than a long list of emails. & since mine was on the list, i am assuming is "The" list. I deleted it, but I just wanted to make everyone aware that the error was made, and I wanted to see if I was the only one who got the second email.?.

Yeah I probably will go the prepaid route.  I may make one more order and then change my card number.  I haven't heard of any cases of identity theft on the TTM thread (please let me know if I am mistaken), so there is not a real urgency there for me, but I agree it is a much safer route.  Why not keep it as safe as possible...

It's reassuring to know they are using the secure port.

And once again TT is proven to be honest with their customers.

Does anyone know if TTM processes orders that are placed on the weekend? I was late getting a order in today and it has not been processed. I'm pretty sure the dont ship on weekends, but will they go ahead, process the order and charge your credit card for it? I ask because I have to call and set my card to be used for international orders and I only set it this way for 3 days.

Then you should be good until this time on Monday, no?

From TTM:
Dispatch

All orders are processed immediately upon receipt by us and dispatched as soon as payment authorization has been obtained on your credit card. As there is no outgoing mail service on weekends, orders received after 8:00am (our time) on Fridays will be processed for mailing on Monday morning.

So I guess it just matters if your 3 days includes Monday

I've had mine processed during the weekend. But not mailed until Monday. Opiated-
This what I thought they would do but I wasn't sure. My understanding of the faqs on the page is that it is processed for mailing on Monday so I would assume with the wording that everything else proceeds as normal, mailing is just delayed.

Whatever happened to your 3 part order? I recall one post where you got one, but not sure about the other two. Did things turn out well for all of them? Did anyone rec orders on the that were either placed or shipped on the 11th? I've been gone for a few days and couldn't read every one of the new posts (178) that were replies to threads I'm subscribed to, so forgive me if this was asked and answered.

  3. ClintEastwood @ ClintEastwood: Robert Duvall and a handful of others were a younger actors coach and always said no one worked as hard as those guys did. Robert Duvall and rest would read the full script 228 over and over, then after the last read they would go into how to perform their character. The young man had made it to meet Al who are greats and pull them to the side. And explain what his coach said. They all looked back and said out of every role you’ve seen me in. I have read it 228 by myself. 🫡 🫢 🫢 🫢
  4. ClintEastwood @ ClintEastwood: Sorry for comment below, but I couldn’t delete. Know I see the
  5. Realbenzeyes @ Realbenzeyes: Yeah Robert Duvall passing is a hard one. RIP
  6. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: Damn. Just heard Robert Duvall passed away Sunday. That’s a tough one. He’s one of my favorite actors. From Lonesome Dove to the Godfather and many others. We will miss you Mr Duvall. You entertained us for 7 decades. RIP
  7. L @ Layne_Cobain: @ClintEastwood make a post about it homie they’re gonna take down your message here cuz shout box isn’t really for talking shop just random shooting the shit exc but yeh just put your message in a post on the forum in the appropriate place and ppl will get at you! 👊 ✌️
  8. ClintEastwood @ ClintEastwood: Just wondering if anyone well trusted has a supply of research thienos or benz in powders for good average prices? Or could give a shout out from me to him? Or the best lowest per each? I’ve seen some cool and some i just know are worth it. Good price rv presses too but it is much more bang for your buck. I have one good vendor. But am looking for variety’s well. Send me a message or reply if you think any. Thanks - CLINT E. Any Heavy stuff too which all seem about the ssmmmmmm
  9. Realbenzeyes @ Realbenzeyes: I always thought I should’ve been born in a much earlier time but I will say, i do enjoy my Xbox and occasional TV series tho 😂
  10. Realbenzeyes @ Realbenzeyes: I just wish the opioid epidemic never happened. Fk the turn of the century (which would be cool no doubt)! Many of my friends and family would’ve ended up in asylums like so many others. I just wish I could get back all those I’ve lost since the start
  11. L @ Layne_Cobain: 1914 I meant
  12. L @ Layne_Cobain: I often wish I lived during the turn of the century or at least before the Harrison narcotics act or whatever I think it was 1924 the fun ended but anyway yeh being able to get laudanum, ❄️ and amphetamine at the local friendly pharmacy
  13. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: Chew on the leaves with a bit of slaked lime and enjoy the mild boost you get from the raw base.
  14. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I’m sure you know the folks in the mountainous regions along South Americas pacific side buy cócà leaves at the local farmers market just to help acclimate to the higher elevation when they have to head up into the hills.
  15. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I would certainly have bought it, swilled it, enjoyed it…. Why not? A little boost in your juice isn’t going to hurt anyone.
  16. R @ Royboy99: Exports were reported to have around 7.2mg per FL OZ, it’s success is what actually led to Coca Cola
  17. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: Having cramps and husband thinks you’re acting hysterical (ie. PMS) the doc would either perform a certain massage to relieve the strains of motherhood and family life of that time or send you down to the local apothecary for a bottle of laudanum… A tincture of alcohol and 10% òpìųm. Fun days huh?
  18. R @ Royboy99: @malestrom: yeah thats it, my bad Mariani, yeah i considered that and also its ROA, which was oral so the bioavailability was lower than insufflation, higher degree of purity tho and longer duration … there was a significant marked increase of patents filed by Edison during the time it was released in the US. Presidents were known to use it as well, and the Queen. The pope awarded the wine the Vatican gold medal award
  19. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I think it was called vin Mariani. But yeah, it was all the rave back in the turn to the 20th century. Original formula Coca Cola did it for a while too. I think it was pretty weak though. Something like 200 mg per liter of wine. Enough to maybe give you a little push but unless you could pound some serious alcohol, it’d be hard to really feel the effects before the ethyl knocked you down on the ground. It was an interesting time period. Laudanum was a “hysterical” woman’s best friend.
  20. R @ Royboy99: Maybe it’s the admixture of my South American dna that works so well with it ? 🤷
