    lets say your doctor has you on 1 mg a day of Xanax and gives you two prescriptions for the next two months.  so you go back in a couple weeks and you manage to get him to raise it to 1.5 mg a day, he gives you a new script and you go fill it. But you still have one paper prescription at home...
