Why did a vendor use 2 different bitcoin addys?

I messed up my first order and so they switched the addy when I made a duplicate order. I know some vendors hate duplicate orders and was selectively scammed recently.

I'm worried the different Addy was to single me out for selective scamming. I checked the Addy and my payment was the only one going to the secondary one.

Maybe I'm just paranoid

You’re being paranoid. It would make no sense that they’d decide to scam you just because you had to send a second set of funds. If they were going to scam you, they’d scam you regardless of how many times you had to send the coins.

Many custodial wallets will generate new wallet addresses after each previous one is used. It’s a way to maintain OPSEC and minimize linking tx’s back to one central place.

Dear Mate,

There’s no need to worry about this. As a vendor, I provide a different Bitcoin address for each order to all my clients, whether they’re in the USA or worldwide. This is solely for security purposes, and nothing else. So just relax and enjoy!

Stay happy!

Thanks man! Hope it arrives

Maybe you are just paranoid brother. A vendor can have 1 BTC address per transaction if he wants to. Whats important is that you are communicating with the vendor and he is replying back and sending you pack details. I hope it arrives and all goes well for you and the vendor.

Okay don't judge me. But I don't know anything about that stuff. I download the app and made an account but I'm stuck. Anyway u could help me?
I invite you to try out the “Search” button in the top right of the site. It’s a very useful tool that I use on the regular to find threads with specific keywords in them. Type in something like “how to buy bitcoin” and I guarantee you’ll find a few threads where other members have given some step by step walkthroughs on how to obtain it 🙂. Here’s an example I found that is from 2021, but is still applicable today - Intro to bitcoin and wallets walkthrough

Or you can always use one of two the most powerful search engines available (which I can promise you is much smarter/more helpful than I could ever be) aka g00gle or ch@tGPT 😆

Do you mean what wallet do you use?

Try using Exodus wallet for BTC brother.

Agreed. Exodus has been the most useful and dependable wallet I've used so far. Plus it's fairly straightforward and user friendly for those newer to crypto. Yet I'm open to other suggestions (not Cake wallet though).

What wallet is good to use that switches like that?

Secondary choice is electrum but always make sure to just use that to store your bought BTC and then convert it to XMR and use the XMR to buy from vendors so as to remain untraceable.

  11. xenxra @ xenxra: @Steviejay88 if there's one major takeaway i've gained from all the indictments against onion farmers it's that you should never rely on server-side encryption for these kinds of things. please refer to hansa as a case example.
  12. A @ Aarfgh: @Steviejay88 absolutely my man, good question
  13. Steviejay88 @ Steviejay88: @Aarfgh II just want everyone to stay safe

  15. A @ Aarfgh: @Steviejay88 so as not to stir any pots, I'm not an expert on this particular forum software however I know natively it doesn't. that doesn't mean a plug-in wasn't used of some sort, if it's even possible. check out the dev console in your browser and poke around now you've got me curious
  16. Steviejay88 @ Steviejay88: @Aarfgh i didn’t think so. Thanks! There maybe should be a warning or something tho because the way it says protected DMs is kind of misleading
  17. A @ Aarfgh: @Steviejay88 Xenforo does not natively support encrypted DMs.
  18. Steviejay88 @ Steviejay88: Are the DMs here encrypted anyone know?
  19. xenxra @ xenxra: it's not so much about the merit it went up or down x percent in y time moreso just where it's at in relation to broader market structure
  20. Telp @ Telp: Cool off. Sorry for the messages, keep hitting the fucking go button
