So I am done with checking out my books from my local library and was hoping you guys could let me know best practices when ordering books online. Few questions:

When emailing publisher, should I always be using pgp or privnote, etc?

I am currently only interested in the genre on pain relief tactics. Do I need to narrow it down based on author or will places be OK with me just asking for full list of authors?

Do I need set up an email purely dedicated for this?

Any other unwritten rules I should be aware of?

Also- any recommendations on best selling authors? I have been reading about this topic for over 15 years.

Thanks for any help.

Also located in US. Is it best bet to just stay domestic or is it OK to look at international pubs?

Not to sound like a broken record, but these guys are right- becoming a sponsor will make finding legitimate answers much easier. To answer your questions..

If their pgp key is listed on their contact info, I would use it, yes.

Depends on the publisher and your initial inquiry. Most have their current titles available to browse before reaching out.

Yes, and I suggest using proton mail.

  9. Alkazar @ Alkazar: Technically they were forced back to work the last time they went on strike in 2024, so this is the same strike for the same reasons in 2025.
  10. Alkazar @ Alkazar: I dont know how to direct reply to people on here. But the Canada Post strike will affect any mail coming from the US. It will be held at a facility until the striek is over. Mail that is being sent from CAD to the US will just not be picked up. It all has to be private delivery services now.
