Hi, new here but I tried the search function and got no hits so I’m asking this question.

I’m seeing a lot of chatter about Proton Mail may be not as trustworthy and secure as we think. Are their any solid alternative email providers anyone can recommend?

Mailfence is one that ive used in the past but i just would rather use protonmail cause ive used them now for 5yrs straight!

Tutanota (tutamail) has been around for ages and is still rated well afaik. Even subject lines and attachments are encrypted, and they offer a free plan like Proton.

However if you use proton mail combo’d with PGP/sef-destructing messages then that should be more than enough security to remain safe imo. Unless there’s some very recent news I’m out of the loop on

Thanks for the replies! I’m a little new at all of this but I’m not stupid lol, are you suggesting like temp.pm? I haven’t used it yet but I think I’ll start doing that, thanks!!

temp.pm hasn't changed their canary and is a bit concerning in my opinion!
i don't think they're going to. i've been waiting like 6+ months for them to reply to my email about it; not sure if the email is even active anymore. whois lookup says the domain lease was updated back in june though so there's clearly someone(s) maintaining the site.

So, I guess you speak about Free Plans EMail Provider.

1. TBH i think Proton is safe, atleast not lesser safe then others.
2. Still, me personally changed from Proton to Tuta long ago, i think 2 years ago.
For ... a lot of Reasons.

I think Tuta is a very good alternative.
(probably even better than proton in a few points)

Mailfence, another Free Plan ( i guess atleast, i never used it but should be fine)

I belive, all other acceptable alternatives Paid Plan start with 1$ or higher tach month ...

I've used safe-mail dot net for a long time now. The capacity is on the lower side for free members. When you reach your quota for space you get notifications for emails but can't read them (even after clearing space) but you can always upgrade. I haven't had issues or read about other people having security issues and have had it before proton was around. GMX dot com is decent.

I would still use PGP or privnote when using proton or anywhere else.

What's wrong with Proton, out of curiosity. That's what everyone uses. Maybe that's a reason itself. I'm genuinely curious what the best provider is as of today.

  3. nameofuser11 @ nameofuser11: Set a reasonable limit. Hell fucking make it like buying cold medicine where they swipe your id and you can't get a bunch. But we know this isn't about logic or public safety. It's about money and control.
  4. nameofuser11 @ nameofuser11: AKA are such a bunch of fucking capitalist traitors. The liquor lobby has a lot of money in this as well.
  5. MorfineOrfan @ MorfineOrfan: The major plain leaf companies and the AKA are the ones lobbying against 7 and the other semi-sythetic derivatives, mgm this that and the other. We all know the chemist are just gonna mess with the scaffolding of the compounds and come out with new and even better semi-sythetic alkoloids of kratom. They are already playing with cats-claw
  6. MorfineOrfan @ MorfineOrfan: @moai just asked chatgpeetea and it looks like plain leaf kratom is safe, they arent banning it. Just 7-Hydroxymitragynine, MGM15 ,16 , and pseudoindoxyl
  7. MorfineOrfan @ MorfineOrfan: Wait... @moai they are federally banning plain leaf kratom too???
  8. moai @ moai: @MorphineOrfan how fucking stupid is this shit. We better see some new shit come out, I’m most upset about banning regular kratom because really? Millions of people have got off hard opioids with it. They must want everyone on methadone instead.

  11. Gulp2788 @ Gulp2788: If bans were done to logic so much of what is illegal now would end up prescription only and I think the powers that be react faster than they think... if they think at all
  12. MorfineOrfan @ MorfineOrfan: They aren't specifically targeting SR and 7oh
  13. MorfineOrfan @ MorfineOrfan: @RiftChems well sr-17018 is an orphine analogue after all, and they are banning all orphines so that makes sense. Orphines are spiking the OD death rates majorly these past few months.
  14. AlHoffman69 @ AlHoffman69: CANDYMAN ramnemnber thta is will be conme relevenaent soon :alien:    🤑
  15. RiftChems @ RiftChems: crazy they are banning SR17018 at the same time. they know what theyre doing.
  16. nameofuser11 @ nameofuser11: The ban of 7oh is gonna have a lot of people needing help soon. Assuming they do ban instead of regulate like they should
