Would you rather get Ativan 1mg or Klonopin .5 mg

Im thinking about asking my dr to switch my ativan to klonopin but not sure if this is a good idea what do you prefer and why? I take it for social anxiety I get 10 a month for social situations. Thanks for any input!

I am prescribed 60 1mg klonopin monthly and have been doing research to find the best substitute for me. I hate the klonopin because it’s not noticeable unless you don’t take it. I’m planning to switch to Valium because it’s physically noticeable and both fast acting and long lasting because it turns into a bunch of active metabolites so it’s like taking 3or4 different benzos simultaneously.

You gotta look at it from your own perspective because like jai who posted above I also get 60 1 mg pins to take twice a day and have taken benzos regularly everyday for years. But you I assume have a much lower tolerance and are able to fully feel benzo when you take it because as you said you’re only scripted ten pills a month to take as needed, not regularly day in day out.
I assume you are still able to feel the ativan when you take it? Just wondering if the grass is greener maybe? Pretty sure you have the equivalency down right that 1 mg Ativan = .5 mg kpin or zan…so while klons are generally scripted more for generalized anxiety because they have a longer duration of effects (6-10 hours) and for ppl who take it more regularly than just as needed, Klon could very well work better for you if Ativan isn’t i mean it rly does come down to personal preference.

I think docs tend to script Xan and Ativan for more as needed usage like you have it scripted because they have a shorter half life and shorter duration of effects and also kick in faster usually than klon, but again everyone’s diff some say xan takes a full hour for them to feel which is what it usually takes for most ppl with kpin, an hour to kick in. Using kpin instead though cause lead to increased tolerance even if taking only as needed because the half life is much longer than Ativan (I believe) and def longer than xan so even after the social situation is over and you no longer need the relief you could still be feeling the effects and it will still be in your body the metabolites I mean…it could potentially be a slippy slope towards you feeling the need to become a habitual everyday benzo user which is definitely NOT good altho is my situation and many others.

Sorry I know I weaved and went back n forth and couldn’t give you a decisive yes or no but that’s just how it is from my pov. There’s positives and negatives but honestly if it were me and I wasn’t fully dependent on benzo daily and just got 5-10 a month to take as needed I think I’d rather have Ativan or xan…but that just me. Be safe and please whatever you do and whatever benzos you end up with, keep it to as needed and don’t become a daily long term dependent like me…diminishing returns and a whole host of bs you do not need. Don’t mean to scare you the way you take them is exactly how they were intended, as needed here n there so youre good.

Same bro only way I can feel my kpin or any benzo is if I “starve” myself and make myself miserable then I can feel the relief but who knows how much is mental at that point…that is the thing with the longer acting bzos for us regular everyday users they’re better for us in that no withdrawal cause half life but because that long half life we can’t feel that relief when it kicks in like with zans where you feel when last dose wears off, feel bad then feel better again when dose again…idk I just wish there were ways to reset tolerance I’ve read some crazy things about flumazenil reversing years of benzo dependency one study in Italy but idk

I’ve found Add a van to be pretty useless unless you have frequent full blown panic attacks, or happen to extremely over indulge in fast paced reading. Kay p£3nz on the other hand, as long as you’re not t0l£rant/d£pend@nt are great for long lasting relief that sounds like it would fit your situation better as long as you don’t need it to be an ‘immediate’ solution and can kind of schedule/plan when you read it.

Valery and Zander IMO are the best options, the former is my personal preference for day to day reading and the latter is more special occasion or if I actually happen to be overly anxious and need fast relief. But if neither of those are an option, I’d personally go with the as the other is quite shit outside of very specific situations.

PS - try to alter the names/spellings of magazines as it’s good practice and I’m pretty sure it’s also technically a rule of the site to do so. Prevents certain words from triggering results to this site on s£arch eng¡nes
