While I know buying small amounts, even when found, usually doesn't cause issue, I want to I ask what everybody does for their security. Do I need a laptop? I have a friend that I told this spot about and they used tor through their phone for a purchase with all the obvious precautions as far as priv note and proton and a wallet separate from their exchange. Should they be worried at all about any issues? All domestic as well just to mention. What can be done to make things better in the future for them? From what they told me their next steps were going to be to make New proton accounts on tor and use that for new accounts like on this site or dread. Any help would be appreciated.

you should not be using privnote because their canary isn't updated anymore, that website could easily be logging messages to feds for all we know; use something like temppm or snote.

you do not need to use tor for ordering through dbg, it wouldn't even make a difference with how the purchase model works using clearnet vendors.

rc vendors are not on exchange watchlists. simply buy btc/xmr, then send it to a personal wallet before sending it to the vendor.

also, back to the tor thing - using tor to access a clearnet site kinda defeats the entire purpose of using tor lmao. it's like standing on the corner of the street in a shady cloak holding a big sign that says "hey, i'm doing something suspicious over here!"

Agree on not using Tor to access clearnet. Nothing wrong with a separate computer for things like here and RCs so if you ever have to clean house in a hurry you only wipe that activity and not your whole digital life.

PS @xenra also do not get why people still use privnote with the years dead canary

i was starting to think people stopped using it the last few months but apparently not 🤷‍♂️
i remember that's like the only thing people were using mid 2010s so at least it's fading out

  8. LatsDoodis @ LatsDoodis: Don’t message people about things like veterinary care without taking care to mind the rules you two crazy nuts. More at stake than getting bad info or scammed, there’s predators out there looking for bigger fish and will step on a guppy to get to them. Fishing expeditions aren’t just for private citizens enjoying a calm weekend exploring the lake for a fish hookup. Offish of offishial fishing investigations may be looking for the best fishing hole and scare off the big
