Additive manufacturing/3d printing is the future of medicine, both in terms of replacement body parts and the manufacturing of prescribed medicine.

It really won't be long before pharmacies full of medication become a thing of the past, and when our Dr prescribes something, we'll go to a pharmacy where they'll 3d print the tablets there and then. No issues with drugs going past their shelf life and no need for billions of pounds ($) of stock sitting on pharmacy shelves.

A short while after that, we'll be 3d printing prescribed medication in our own homes.
