I have been battling low, dull back pain that is constant on both sides of my spine for about 4 months now. After ER visits and my general dr I am finally seeing a back specialist on Friday. The pain is constant but varies in intensity only relieved by pain pills or muscle relaxers. I've been diagnosed thus far with a back sprain (but for 4 months?) and a bladder infection which has since cleared but still have the pain. I'm not that old - WTH?!

I've never injured my back before and don't recall doing anything to strain it. My parents say it is the heels I wear on a daily basis. I do not want to hear that! Please someone tell me it's not the heels! I spend a fortune on beautiful designer shoes.

Just curious if anyone else has had this type of pain and what it was/the solution. I'm frankly tired of popping so many pills.

I hate to tell you, but it certainly could be the heels. If you have read the fashion thread, you would know I share your love for shoes, but I had to give up the high platforms or stilettos. The only thing I can wear without pain and get off the ground is a wedge.

You should at least give them up temporarily to see if they are the cause or not. I know it's sad, was always told I have nice legs and flats sure don't do anything to show them off. Ultimately feeling good is better than looking good.

Oh my goodness, it would be a major issue for me to give up my gorgeous and outrageously expensive designer shoes! I do wear wedges to work a lot and that helps and have tried to not wear 5" stilettos but maybe 3.5" on a work day.

I work for a large beauty company in Marketing so appearance and designer labels are like a prerequisite to work in my department. Competitive and shallow describes my work environment.

We do seem to have lots of common interests 2earls, I knew you were a good one!

That definitely doesn't sound like an Easy Spirit environment.

GI broke my l3 last October (transverse) and it healed right up and never bothered me again.  Now that I have started doing yoga every morning, my back is bugging me daily.  Igh.  This is new.

Finally got my fucked up insurance all figured out and made it to the back specialist today. X-rays showed nothing wrong so then did a MRI. Dr suggested physical therapy after next appt with MRI results. Threw more pills at me - got 90 tramps, muscle relaxers. Ugh - really? He said he could not give me anything stronger than tramps. Feel like I need to take 3 of these things to put a dent in the pain. Would be ok if I had not just got scammed from a newly blacklisted vendor for the good stuff. Double fuck my life. Oh, and he agreed with my hubby and others who have said I need to take a break from the heels. One question? WTF is my good karma? Isn't that supposed to come back in spades? Between it being my second time to be scammed and I can't wear heels AND I got tramps again, plus all the pain I'm in - ugh. Just over it all. Sorry for the rant, I'm having a pity party at the moment.

Awww that's life. It throws it at ya all at once. It won't last forever, you will get a break soon, I can feel it; right through the Internet.

i used to have backpain from my car accidents, i always used to think i had a kidney problem, but really it was a bad sciatic nerve on the lower right back that always freaked me out, and also i thought i had a problem with my liver but instead if was a mid tear in my spine that would be aggravated when humidity levels were high...

i used to think allot of my pain in the back was from organs, but it has to do with the lower lumbar and upper spine, and the  vertebrates also play a big role , especially on our lower backs, its like TRANSMISSION FLUID , keeps our spines alive but over time cartilage tends to weaken or go away causing the vertebrates to sink down , thts why u see older ppl  look smaller cause there lower back is degenerating /default_sad.png

so i try to stretch my lower back, and legs as much as possible ,take EFA's tablets, and good protein, eat a clean diet, exercise your back to make that area strong ? if that works if you can manage to do workouts ,

hope you feel better

also if  u have access to a sauna, sauna heat most definitely helps with that bone pain :/ i am 32 yrs old and been in 9 car accidents, more than a million wipe-outs on surfing and skating in the past 2decades, so my back and shins are torn up, yet thank goodness i still havent needed PK's

jst have anxiety ,go figure lol

I thought of u , so anyway pulled my back yesterday and with that pulled my sciatic nerve, pain in the lower right area...

yesterday took 1 flexeril, did nothing for the pain

today took a generic vicodin, took half , somewhat relief will take the other later, gonna do allot of stretches whenever pain is minimal and go to the gym if I can get to one today and use the sauna and hot tub, my sciatic flared up! from one bad move on the waters yesterday

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that mrcoolguy! Sounds painful. From what I am reading, I need to strengthen my core ab muscles, stretch and not overdue it. Maybe lose the heels too but I believe it will be a rainy day in heel b4 that totally happens.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with me, sounds like you have a lot of knowledge on this subject. I have been in quite a few car accidents myself, I'm a terrible driver! Maybe that has contributed to my back pain as well.

We'll what the MRI results say and if physical therapy helps.

  4. ClintEastwood @ ClintEastwood: Robert Duvall and a handful of others were a younger actors coach and always said no one worked as hard as those guys did. Robert Duvall and rest would read the full script 228 over and over, then after the last read they would go into how to perform their character. The young man had made it to meet Al who are greats and pull them to the side. And explain what his coach said. They all looked back and said out of every role you’ve seen me in. I have read it 228 by myself. 🫡 🫢 🫢 🫢
  5. ClintEastwood @ ClintEastwood: Sorry for comment below, but I couldn’t delete. Know I see the

  10. Realbenzeyes @ Realbenzeyes: I always thought I should’ve been born in a much earlier time but I will say, i do enjoy my Xbox and occasional TV series tho 😂
  11. Realbenzeyes @ Realbenzeyes: I just wish the opioid epidemic never happened. Fk the turn of the century (which would be cool no doubt)! Many of my friends and family would’ve ended up in asylums like so many others. I just wish I could get back all those I’ve lost since the start
  12. L @ Layne_Cobain: 1914 I meant
  13. L @ Layne_Cobain: I often wish I lived during the turn of the century or at least before the Harrison narcotics act or whatever I think it was 1924 the fun ended but anyway yeh being able to get laudanum, ❄️ and amphetamine at the local friendly pharmacy
  14. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: Chew on the leaves with a bit of slaked lime and enjoy the mild boost you get from the raw base.
  15. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I’m sure you know the folks in the mountainous regions along South Americas pacific side buy cócà leaves at the local farmers market just to help acclimate to the higher elevation when they have to head up into the hills.
  16. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I would certainly have bought it, swilled it, enjoyed it…. Why not? A little boost in your juice isn’t going to hurt anyone.
  17. R @ Royboy99: Exports were reported to have around 7.2mg per FL OZ, it’s success is what actually led to Coca Cola
  18. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: Having cramps and husband thinks you’re acting hysterical (ie. PMS) the doc would either perform a certain massage to relieve the strains of motherhood and family life of that time or send you down to the local apothecary for a bottle of laudanum… A tincture of alcohol and 10% òpìųm. Fun days huh?
  19. R @ Royboy99: @malestrom: yeah thats it, my bad Mariani, yeah i considered that and also its ROA, which was oral so the bioavailability was lower than insufflation, higher degree of purity tho and longer duration … there was a significant marked increase of patents filed by Edison during the time it was released in the US. Presidents were known to use it as well, and the Queen. The pope awarded the wine the Vatican gold medal award
  20. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I think it was called vin Mariani. But yeah, it was all the rave back in the turn to the 20th century. Original formula Coca Cola did it for a while too. I think it was pretty weak though. Something like 200 mg per liter of wine. Enough to maybe give you a little push but unless you could pound some serious alcohol, it’d be hard to really feel the effects before the ethyl knocked you down on the ground. It was an interesting time period. Laudanum was a “hysterical” woman’s best friend.
