Anyone here have success treating depression with an MAOI?

I'm currently prescribed transdermal selegiline (Emsam) at 9 mg/day and I think it may be starting to help with my treatment resistant depression, but I'm still feeling low. Has anyone here had success with an MAOI? Did you end up needing an adjunctive prescription to really help boost the benefits? I hear some people go into remission with MAOIs + TCAs or even a stimulant.

Would love to hear your experiences.

Huge success using nardil. Been on it for 7 years, eliminated my drepression. Strongly recommend nardil or parnate for depression issues.

Dr. Ken Gillman has an excellent site,. Psychotropical.com , that discusses the research supporting treating TRD with maois. Unfortunately most doctors are not willing to prescribe them because they have an exaggerated view of the dangers. Also all of the MAOI s are off-patent so there is no drug company pushing them.
