Hi - First off thanks so much for the membership and the abundance of information. I had a good time yesterday going through some of the posts and reading up on everything. Learned a lot and laughed a bit.

I have been in terrible pain for the past couple of months I was in a car accident where I tore my ACL and meniscus (still not repaired) and have bulging discs in my lower back. These past months have been quite a struggle for me pain wise and the run around I get from doctors. The highest script I am able to get is Perc 10 and it just does nothing for me. Compounded pain all day long is no way to live. And as a 25 year old, it's tough to think of it as being something I am just going to have to live with. The Doctor game here in NYC is nuts - every doctors office I go to I am looked at as either a dealer or a junkie on top of having to sit in waiting rooms for hours upon hours with real dealers and junkies - it all just confuses me...

Well that's my short story - I guess out of here I would love to continue to learn about pain management get some support and hopefully land with a caring compassionate doctor in the NYC area who actually listens.

Thanks again...

Kind Regards,

AL

A lovely intro AL,

You will find yourself in good company here...

Your story resonates with all of us on this board... Inept doctors who can't separate the 'seekers' from the people who are actually in legitimate pain and therefore need...

At 25, living with pain is a daunting prospect, which is why so many of us seek alternative sources...

May your journey on DBG be the start of the rest of your life..

Need any help, just holler!

~P~

Welcome AL, a compassionate doctor is worth their weight in gold. I wish you good luck with finding one. I pay an arm and a leg to stay with mine because without her I can barely use the arm and leg anyway. I'm sure you'll find some help here.

Thank you 2E - your words are not only true but meaningful.

An arm and leg well isn't that ironic /default_wink.png

Thank you so much Phrenicz!

Yes it is quite daunting and not a place I pictured myself to be a couple of years ago. Not being able to work long hours, exercise, blah blah blah - such is life.

Now just working on taking life back over again and get that happiness I use to have with such ease.

I can sympathize. In NYC you need to find a pain management specialist. The general Drs are all afraid to prescribe pain killers because of all the regulation. If you have already gone the PMS route, keep looking until you find one that is good and wants you to be able to live as close to a normal life as possible. As someone that has suffered from chronic pain for years, there are pain management doctors out there that will help you. Unfortunately, even they are limited in the amount of medicine they can prescribe per month, and it recently got worse because of new these blanket rules they have to follow no matter what your condition.

Hang in there.

Welcome aboard! I hope you are able to find some relief here, and a new doc. Good luck!

Welcome! This site is the greatest thing ever. Hope you find what you're looking for. ❤️

Ant sorry to hear about your pain issues. You should be able to find something around here to get you through this rough patch till you can find a cheaper and more practical solution. You should not have to spend all of your hard earned money for a legitimate medical condition that requires medication just so you can function.

I know you probably don't need anymore advice but maybe you could also find and good physical therapist and chiropractor to help. I have neck problems and the pain meds help but I found a good chrio and he really makes the difference when I have sudden flare up.

Hi Al, glad you found it too. It's the nicest place on the net /default_smile.png sorry you're in pain, hope you get sorted soon as poss

  6. Mom&PopShop @ Mom&PopShop: I'm trying to remember what the texture was like.. I know it came in a pouch like chewing tobacco. I remember it being cut up in strips like shredded chewing tobacco too, was that the case???

  12. LatsDoodis @ LatsDoodis: Don’t message people about things like veterinary care without taking care to mind the rules you two crazy nuts. More at stake than getting bad info or scammed, there’s predators out there looking for bigger fish and will step on a guppy to get to them. Fishing expeditions aren’t just for private citizens enjoying a calm weekend exploring the lake for a fish hookup. Offish of offishial fishing investigations may be looking for the best fishing hole and scare off the big

  14. LatsDoodis @ LatsDoodis: What happened to Big League Chew? That was some mighty fine chewing gum. I personally never had any, but I think of it often.
