You are not alone. It takes some research and learning and I am about medium to high on computers as well, but it took me a few sessions of 3 hours each to figure it out. Once you have it set up, it's very easy. It might help you to know that the place you buy your bitcoin resides online, a traditional website, but the wallet resides on your computer and is a program on your computer. You want one of these definitely. Never send btc straight from the website you buy it from. You have to have a wallet that is separate. Somehow, once I got that concept, it was helpful. If you use a bank to buy it like a debit card, make sure you have online alerts from your bank, either email or text. Some of the banks say, oh, no, someone is trying to scam you with bitcoin and won't let the transaction go through. Oftentimes this can be a yes/no alert on your phone that says did you make this transaction. You say yes and then bank says, whew, no scam and it will go through. I have found the more user friendly the bitcoin site is, the more their fees are. That's okay for right now, but the more savvy you become, you can get some of the fees down I have heard. it is still cheaper fees than any other means of transportation we use around here. I will say that Paxful was extremely confusing for me. Maybe it's gotten better, but about a year ago, I just couldn't understand that one. Be prepared to have to use your state ID or driver's license and take a picture of it. I don't think you can do anything without identifying yourself. Some people here may know how, but I sure don't. That made me so uncomfortable in the beginning, but it is for your protection. I hope that helps. Recently I asked a vendor what they used and they told me and I used that and was able to do it. It was one of the ones you mentioned. What I did was take a break and would try occasionally to find a good user-friendly YouTube video. Try to find a video of the exact website you are trying to buy btc from. I see you have already read everything on here. If I can do it, you can do it. Plus the sites are getting more user friendly all the time. In 6 months' time, I noticed a big difference, so keep trying. I was just dreading my donation time coming up because I was able to just get enough btc to donate here, I didn't know what I was going to do next time. Now it's no problem anymore.
