Hello,

Some of you know me, and many don't, but I'm an M.A. Psychology Major with a concentration in pharmacology. I wanted to make this post because I haven't seen many posts about this, but I wanted to share my experience with helping my partner get off Kratom with low withdrawals. She had been taking a 3mg dose each day, which is very small, but with many of us, we know that opioid withdrawal, or any withdrawal, is the worst. First, for legal reasons and the forum's rules, this is not medical advice. From my research on this newish supplement banned in most countries that produce it for us in the United States, I found enough evidence and anecdotal care. I found that administration of Nalaxolone 2x a day significantly lowered her withdrawal symptoms. In the research study I looked at, they were using a mixture of Wellbutrin and naloxone, but you need a prescription for one, but with just Narcan, it worked out pretty well.

Would you mind sharing that research study?
Naloxone (narcan) works by binding to opioid receptors and taking the place of the molecule "activating" that receptor. In other words, if there is not an opiate in someone's body, it will do nothing to them.

A lady at my local dog park swears by Kratom. She constantly raved about the benefits, talked about it every single day at the park, and would explain how/why she did what she did.

She often looked/acted like she was on 40 cups of coffee! (… or m3th) Turns out, it was Kratom.

I’ve never tried it, but Kratom is found at most smoke shops in my area. Apparently, there are “sativa” aka hyper versions, and mellow “indica” versions.

But more importantly, they say Kratom has strains that use the same receptors as opiates/opioids, no?

Maybe this is what @Lucifereatspi ’s friend went through(?)

Biologically-speaking, any chance Kratom is closer to poppy seeds than 420???

  15. M @ meepmoopmeep: Ole Miss has the chance to do the funniest thing ever and win a championship without Kiffin
