Does anyone know how easy it is to order to Republic of Ireland in relation to customs?

I would like to use a Republic of Ireland vendor, but it looks like there aren't any, so I'd like to use a UK or EU vendor, but I don't know how strict ROI customs are. Anyone have any experience of this?
