Driving to Nogales Mexico from Arizona for Pain Medication

Greetings everyone,

I have been having a lot of trouble with mexican online pharmacy vendors selling 0pana because I am getting some terrible customer service that almost every time becomes completely frustrating because the contact does not seem to understand English well and some vendors use that to their advantage to pretend they didnt understand and then rip you off as best they can.

I basically started thinking about driving across the border to find a doctor in mexico to prescribe 0pana for me and then I can either discretely mail back to myself in Arizona or hide it in my car and drive back. However it sounds like the border patrol is quite aware of americans doing this so it may be better to just mail back to myself instead of crossing border with it.

So is this something that is even possible? I have thought about maybe trying to reach out to a few pharmacies via phone numbers on google maps, but just wanted to try posting here first to ask others if they have any experience doing this sort of thing and if it is even possible to do for 0pana or if that medication is not accessible to american tourists. I thought mexico decriminalized all drugs though so regardless shouldnt it be legal to at least carry maybe not purchase out right in a store though? I just dont know how it works and was hoping any others with previous experience crossing the border for medication can give any information or insight.

How well do you speak spanish? Their are Doctors you can pay off for scripts but it will take some work to find one, could take a while. And mailing it back would be the best option. A lot of work to pull it off. I would definitely NOT try bringing it over the border. As you know Mexico is dangerous af, you could easily get robbed or worse. So it ain't easy like the good ole days.

if you got enough money anything possible down there you might not even need to see a doctor just have to find the right pharmacy

I went to Arizona state and would frequent Nogales for my pharma needs. It is way easier than you think. At first I would hang out on the patio of a bar and runners would come asking for what you want and they would grab it for you and bring it back to your table. If you wanted quantity they would gladly intro you to a contact in a pharmacy to help. Drop them a $20 tip and have trust. I made a connect with a man named cowboy who I dealt with on the regular. I would drive there 2-3x a month, park on the American side and walk across, and then stock up. I would crotch softball sized loads thru customs and drive back to Phoenix. 
Thinking back...I had a lot of balls to do this. I wouldn’t just go thru customs empty handed tho. I would shop at the stores and bring back duty free liquor, cartons of cigarettes, shitty trinkets from local shops and eat/drink at local restaurants. I was your typical gringo tourist traveling with 3-5 others doing the same and did not raise suspicion being a twenty something preppy looking young man crossing back to the USA. Tafil was my go to and I wish I could stock the same bars today. 
As far as safety goes the gangs there are on every corner and protect tourists as Nogales thrives on tourism and has been missing out on a lot of it lately. They want you there. Gangs would protect you from any real danger unless you were looking for trouble. If you are going to spend money on the local economy they will welcome you and treat you well. Shots of mezcal were given at local shops and everyone was friendly. 
Cowboy would bring me to his office in the back of the farmacia and let me bag the product in private before leaving while we drank beer and watch soccer. He would also have escorts bring me to strip clubs and private clubs on the other side of the tracks to offer protection from any shenanigans as typically you don’t cross the tracks. I always felt taken care of and never had any concern while there. At the same time I was generous with money and was a confident naive young man at that time of my life and felt invincible. Luckily nothing ever happened to me and I have not lived in Arizona for years. 
I would try it again but has been awhile since my experiences I just explained.

give it a shot. Wouldn’t hurt. If no runners contact you just walk into any farmacia and ask for what you are looking for. They shouldn’t give you a problem

@Greentrees that was one of my top reads of posts here in a while. Thank you, that's amazing. & looks like I'll be driving to Mexico sometime in June to try to do the same. 

My friend told me to fly to Columbia as they sell 10mg hydro in up to 30 packs in store. But can't mail anything from Columbia without a middleman shipper which you'd have to trust a lot. & my whole reason for wanting to do this is to try and bring back a few months of supply as my monthly spending is way to high for my needs right now haha.

I have been considering doing this. My understanding is customs will typically let you re-enter the US with a specific amount of pills. Usually, less than 50 for personal use. I am not sure how accurate this is.

Please keep us posted. This is probably the wave of the future. It’s getting absolutely insane. I believe we may even see some civil disobedience in the US if things don’t settle. No matter what you do in a given day , a part of you is controlled by some law or ordinance. More often than not and especially in a large city you may even be on CCTV.
