Hi fellas so ive never tried modafinil and would like to know the ins the outs, the good the bad, and any tips.

My work and school situation is going to be messing up my sleep schedule pretty bad and from what ive gathered on the substance its supposed to alleviate sleep deprivation symptoms. Is it something I can take everyday safely? Do I limit my use to not build a tolerance? Any bad side effects? (physical or mental) My work is hard labor is it something thats safe to take when overly exerted?

Thanks in advance for any input :)

I'd only mention that 1) the standard 200mg dose may be more than you need. it's safe to cut them in half. 2) i've developed a moderate tolerance for moda. 25mg used to be sufficient to get me through a third shift. i ratcheted up to 50mg. now at 50mg toward the end of the day i feel physically exhausted but mentally awake. it's an extremely uncomfortable distinction. 3) be careful as the half-life lasts most people 12-15 hours. approximately the only appropriate time to take the medication is upon waking. although, in my case the sleep-reducing effects seem to wear off after 3-4 hours (at 50mg) whereas a residual waking effect may linger for much longer. this is why you want to be careful about dose and timing. 4) i don't notice a significant effect in terms of work ethic and concentration, however, it does keep me awake (the amount of time is entirely dose dependent) when i normally have issues with over sleeping.  if you're working hard in manual labor you really shouldn't need this kind of drug. it won't help you work harder. hard work should keep you awake in its own right. but yes, as far as i know, its safe to take during periods of exertion. i've gone jogging on the medication with no significant effect on speed or increased time of exercise. on the other hand, the first one or two times i took moda i went jogging and did feel a mild "euphoria" (or rather increased propensity to smile and laugh)  which no longer in any way accompanies moda use.
