Finding a psychiatrist without having to go through a primary care

I'm moving to another state soon and won't be able to work with my current psychiatrist (I don't think?) since he's not licensed where I'm moving. He had said that he would need to refer me to another psychiatrist where I'm moving, when I did end up moving.
I don't need to see a primary care doctor. They are completely useless to me.
I'm prescribed Lamictal which is really helpful for mood stabilization. That is what I would be looking for a new psychiatrist for.
Does anyone have experience with working with a new psychiatrist without having to go with a primary care doctor first?

Theres no reason a GP wouldn't prescribe that medication as long as you have a history of use.

Seems cheaper too. Bring your medical records and thats all you need.

Also an out of state Id will work with an out of state prescription, especially if you go to a mom and pop. Just say you have two places. Worked for my script for zero years before being shut down.

My doctor in my former state won't be able to prescribe it in the first place, I don't think. If my license and registration change to the new state where I'm living, I don't think he can prescribe, or even do telehealth. I'm not sure if I can basically have dual residency for this.

What do you two think about the online MD's/Psychiatrists for this? I was checking some yesterday that were in the new state. I'm guessing I could show my medical records to them from who I currently work with.

Thank you for the help.

  5. N @ necromedic: It was, indeed, and very soft. Would almost flow through your hands on a hot day.
  6. Mom&PopShop @ Mom&PopShop: I'm trying to remember what the texture was like.. I know it came in a pouch like chewing tobacco. I remember it being cut up in strips like shredded chewing tobacco too, was that the case???

  12. LatsDoodis @ LatsDoodis: Don’t message people about things like veterinary care without taking care to mind the rules you two crazy nuts. More at stake than getting bad info or scammed, there’s predators out there looking for bigger fish and will step on a guppy to get to them. Fishing expeditions aren’t just for private citizens enjoying a calm weekend exploring the lake for a fish hookup. Offish of offishial fishing investigations may be looking for the best fishing hole and scare off the big

  14. LatsDoodis @ LatsDoodis: What happened to Big League Chew? That was some mighty fine chewing gum. I personally never had any, but I think of it often.
