I am a believer in fix the system first, dont just try to force it and hope all goes well. I do not know your symptoms or what you went through but here is my advice....
1. PH balance your digestion and sooth it. I like aloe vera juice, apple cider vinegar and glutamine for intestinal repair.
2. Get used to eating small meals on schedule
3. Use shakes where meals wont go down, but make sure you are getting calories where needed. Try to have a food with the shake (nut butters, nuts, or a snack)
4. Slowly phase in all solid foods.
5. slowly increase calories.
6. def stay away from orals til you feel better.
