Hi,

Asking favors as usual...

What is about the largest laptop screen I could get for my wife?

I'd love to get in the 16-17" range. It won't move much, just sit in front of her without straining her eyes much. I was going to get her a desktop (she's old fashioned), but it had been impossible for me to get at ports, cables, etc.

Win 7 or 8 OK. Her only requirement is that it run AOL /default_smile.png

Thanks for any pointers.

I'll contribute something intelligent soon. Promise.

I've been looking at Acer Chromebooks & Travelmates. Right direction?

1/2

I don't know shit about computers 1/2 but aren't some of the newer tv's internet capable? How about a 60" screen?

I think you can hook up a small tv to the computer. Get yourself a 21" but again I'm just guessing.

I do think they have some pretty large monitors for computers  too. At least 20"

I agree with HB. Most laptops have, or at least they used to have, a port to connect an external monitor. If I were to use a laptop I would want  a mouse too. Some people adapt well to the touchpad, I don't. But I'm the old guy sitting on the porch shaking my cane, telling the kids to "get off my lawn!". /default_smile.png

Travelmates I've seen are not real powerful. But just to run AOL and basic home stuff, they're fine.

I actually had a device in the '90 called WebTV which was basically just a browser that you hooked up to your TV and could surf the net. So at the time I was looking at a 27" monitor.

  3. D @ drdrizzy13: Yeah it was definitely a hold. Can't blame the refs for calling it. But I've seen many sketchy calls in the past to help the spread or over/under lol.
  4. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: Wonder how much money was impacted by that last touchdown and holding call back. The refs were flirting with the over/under payoffs… that flag either cost a lot people some money or won them a bunch. But I guess you can’t say it was a bad call, just a very impactful one.
  5. shoutback @ shoutback: Fucking A nfl season is over :( Those were by and far the best teams this season. That Elite D will just stifle mofos. And ya gotta give Darnold his flowers for taking care of the football. That was professional.
  6. M @ meepmoopmeep: Too bad that football season is over now
  7. M @ meepmoopmeep: Seahawks offense left more to be desired (esp during first half) but patriots offense was just abysmal. A win is a win though. Squawk squawk!
