Hi,

Asking favors as usual...

What is about the largest laptop screen I could get for my wife?

I'd love to get in the 16-17" range. It won't move much, just sit in front of her without straining her eyes much. I was going to get her a desktop (she's old fashioned), but it had been impossible for me to get at ports, cables, etc.

Win 7 or 8 OK. Her only requirement is that it run AOL /default_smile.png

Thanks for any pointers.

I'll contribute something intelligent soon. Promise.

I've been looking at Acer Chromebooks & Travelmates. Right direction?

1/2

I don't know shit about computers 1/2 but aren't some of the newer tv's internet capable? How about a 60" screen?

I think you can hook up a small tv to the computer. Get yourself a 21" but again I'm just guessing.

I do think they have some pretty large monitors for computers  too. At least 20"

I agree with HB. Most laptops have, or at least they used to have, a port to connect an external monitor. If I were to use a laptop I would want  a mouse too. Some people adapt well to the touchpad, I don't. But I'm the old guy sitting on the porch shaking my cane, telling the kids to "get off my lawn!". /default_smile.png

Travelmates I've seen are not real powerful. But just to run AOL and basic home stuff, they're fine.

I actually had a device in the '90 called WebTV which was basically just a browser that you hooked up to your TV and could surf the net. So at the time I was looking at a 27" monitor.

  2. shoutback @ shoutback: Coach will get Woolen straightened out.
  3. shoutback @ shoutback: Yessir but I think he may have matured and he is showing steadiness during crunch time. All you can ask of anyone. He has answered the call so far.
  4. M @ meepmoopmeep: Darnold sometimes does Darnold things but otherwise a skilled QB
  5. M @ meepmoopmeep: @shoutback he seriously needs to be benched for being a jackass who almost cost the seahawks the game
  6. shoutback @ shoutback: @meepmoopmeep that Woolen situation was atrocious
  7. shoutback @ shoutback: 2018 draft
  8. shoutback @ shoutback: At least football is something we all can agree on. I'm happy for Darnold. Crazy to think he is the 1st of that 2018 to make it to the SB
  9. shoutback @ shoutback: Squack Squack mfers lol j/k but yeah go fucking Seahawks!
  10. M @ meepmoopmeep: sad that the rams aren’t advancing but saw it coming from a mile away. go seahawks!
  11. shoutback @ shoutback: GO HAWKS!
  12. L @ Layne_Cobain: Stidham played well enuff to win until that late pick that ended it ;( hate the pats hope Sammy and the Seahawks can handle em that defense is fierce but the offense isn’t as explosive as the rams and obviously he ain’t the caliber of Matthew stafford but anyways, go Hawks!!!
  13. M @ meepmoopmeep: But the hawks played better and earned their SB spot
  14. M @ meepmoopmeep: Riq Woolen being an absolute clown and handing the rams a TD for unsportsmanlike behavior at the sidelines
  15. shoutback @ shoutback: What about them HAWKS!
  16. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: Come on Stidham!
  17. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: Now that's interesting...
  18. L @ Layne_Cobain: McCarthy to the yinzers
  19. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: *offensive line
  20. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: I'm very happy with it. He was in our building for a few years, followed Mike MacDonald path and let's fucking do it! Pass rush has been our biggest issue besides online.
