New to this site and wanted to say that I love the informative discussions here and sense of community.

I just wanted to post my view about the changing (and disturbing) approach to chronic pain by the healthcare community driven by a government eager to control the prescription pad.

I've worked in healthcare in the U.S. for nearly 20 years and I've never seen anything like this.  The DEA and medical licensure boards have clinicians terrified that they are one Ambien script away from the slammer. They've made the process of prescribing chronic controlled medication so onerous that most general practitioners are unwilling to take anyone new into thier practice if they require ANY chronic schedualled medication.

Ah well, I'll get off my soapbox now, again I just wanted to say hi and thanks for all the great information.

Hello.  Welcome.  Hope you find what you are looking for.  This is a great place.  My only suggestion (which has been repeated countless times by countless members to new members) is to thoroughly, and I really mean thoroughly read everything. Almost all of the answers that will allow you to make informed decisions already lie in this treasure trove of information.  Again, welcome and have some fun too while you do your research!  S-

I find this topic you bring up to be an interesting discussion in and of itself.  I was listening to a podcast of a reputable addiction specialist (well, depends on who you ask) and they were saying that modern pain pills only exacerbate pain because your body adjusts itself to the drug's pain relief.  Therefore when you are off, you are not the same.  The same can be said for benzos and alcholism as they both affect similar areas with alcohol a little more complex.  I find these topics interesting for discussion.  If you find me wrong and cite something to the contrary, please do, I enjoy learning.

Regardless, cbearcircle thank you for making me think and I look forward to your future insights into the managed care industry.  Have a great evening

Hey, thanks for your reply Nygiantsfan. I'm far from an addiction specialist but from what I see the thinking right now among the healthcare community (much of it driven by government demands) is that opioids aren't helpful for chronic pain due to tolerance, SE, and that chronic opioid use actually decreases the pain thresh hold thus causing an need for increasing dosages.

This thinking seems to do a near180 every 10 years or so. It wasn't that long ago that there was a big push to address and monitor and treat pain. We were told patients had a right to proper pain control.

Now that completely turned on its head and we are basically driven to ignore its existence all together.

Greetings and prosperity to you new member

Thanks Beranda, there's a wealth of knowledge on this site that I' ve only just started reading. Everyone seems great a willing to help and I hope I can contribute to the forums occasionally.

I'm pretty new here and I joined for much the same reason after the traditional health care system also failed me.

I've found nothing but helpful, hilarious, and borderline crazy /default_smile.png  (in a good way) people here.

May the DBG force be with you.

Hey Cbearcircle!

it looks like you've already been given the "read much and learn" advice, so I'll just say your introduction post was very well written. I look forward to your contributions to our community! After you've read and searched, if you still need assistance, feel free to reach out.

Welcome!!

Thank you for the advice FrankieGirl. I'm currently reading up as much as I can. I have lots of questions, but everyday here i get a little better informed. I wish I knew this place existed 2 years ago, I could've avoided a lot of suffering...

Warm welcome cbearcircle ~

Thank you for your excellent introductory post! Please, please get on your soapbox & post away.......

As bigoxyhunter stated above & many others here w/ severe chronic pain, I, too, have had & continue to have the gov't, big pharma, health care systems (very hard to use the term "health care" in regards to any w/in that group), et al, fail me miserably over & over again and getting worse.

Very much looking forward to your future posts.

Being fairly new here, myself, DBG has become a life line full of valuable info & an incredible community more than willing to help.

  10. C @ Cheesus: Good morning! Ill be in touch, there's a few rather rare magazines I've been trying to find for a while, so hopefully I'll get lucky
  11. Professor_ @ Professor_: Hi Good Morning
  12. xenxra @ xenxra: I've opened a case with numerous exchanges at this point to monitor all the addresses I have on hand but after a lot of bakc and forth they all ultimately suggest I file a report with local PD but the people in my area are generally definitely not savvy enough to handle a case like this so I'd be left waiting around for them.to pass my case upto secret service or something
  13. xenxra @ xenxra: not a bad idea, I'm open to anything. problem is I don't really have a direct method of contact with the attacker. they used a VPN with a Google voice number to reach me.bc my number was leaked in a data breach (like 10 times at this point) and then the rest of the ordeal was carried out through a falsified coinbase front-end. atm I'm mostly just concerned with getting any phone numbers I have on hand suspended (done) and as many addresses as possible frozen (in progress)
  14. uncharted @ uncharted: @xenxra It's not the best advice but you could alway's bind a RAT to PDF file and send them an email from a differnt email posing as a lawyer/or some authority figure from a saying someting about sueing/fake affidavit or anything you can think that would make them scared/curious/greedy enough to open it and then drain their crypto or find out who it is and pinpoint their location and file charges. Just brainstorming.
  15. xenxra @ xenxra: appreciate the kind words everyone. I think I'll make it. if I can even just so much as manage to get one of these guys locked up with the trail.i have on them then I can sit well with that. based on a couple addresses I've come across they've taken at least $5mil total from other victims.
  16. T @ timyboy: BTC is soaring woohoo
  17. K @ knofflebon: @xenxra fuuuuuuuck I'm so sorry to hear that, goddamn. Crypto scammers are getting so sophisticated these days. Here's hoping this won't keep you down for too long, painful though it may be.
  18. PHXINC @ PHXINC: i dunno its not up my field. I understand you being over it. im sorry and people suck. shit i was pissed when the snow kids took 1200 from me. You have a good balance. kudos to you. There is another 100k out there.
  19. PHXINC @ PHXINC: i dunno its not up my field. I understand you being over it. im sorry and people suck. shit i was pissed when the snow kids took 1200 from me. Right before that i had a very large amount of things taken from me from a 'friend' through a combined deal to his drop of course. You have a good balance. kudos to you. There is another 100k out there.
