Hi all,

I'm praeteritus from the states. I have ADD at least I believe that I do (I have not been officially diagnosed nor have I been evaluated), but no doctor will prescribe me narcos because I have been red flagged as an addict/alcoholic. I am an addict/alcoholic, let's be clear, but I only use prescription stimulants for their intended purposes (at least what I understand them to be). I recently started another sem of college, and my "organic" connect stopped seeing their doctor (it's a long story). So, for the past 2 yrs I would get them from her. Everything was going smooth and I was acing most of my classes, for those 2 years. Now, I while I am attending classes I have the hardest time concentrating (I truly strive to concentrate in classes) and things are not connecting as easily as they have been these last 2 years. Before this semester I thought that I was using Adderall as a support/aid/"crutch" (whatever you want to call it), but I'm starting to realize that I might actually have ADD. I have been searching the surface web for a long time trying to find some connects with absolutely no luck and/or no real instructions on how to do this. Then I stumbled onto this wonderful platform! This place gives me hope for an actual solution to my problem, which I thought I was just fucked lol. Anyways, I'm glad to be here and hope to help contribute (if I can) to this community.

Welcome to our forum and I am very glad you found us before getting scammed trying to navigate the Internet to find what you need.

There is a good option without donating and more if you do. You are entirely welcome either way.

Thank you for the info. That actually subtly answered a question I had. I can't wait to fully comprehend bitcoin and be able to use it because the first transaction I will ever make using it is donating to this website!

@Praeteritus

I’ve made a similar realization in myself before and experienced/sometimes experience possibly a very similar fear/guilt about my dependency on these kinds of scripts.

But, i realized the more I thought and talked about it, the guiltier I felt without any specifics reasons, to the conclusion this guilt was not coming from inside , but rather a culturally imposed taboo maybe?

and while it’s totally smart to be aware of where you’re at with the habit - remember it’s also totally ok to take the medicine you need! I was diagnosed with add when I was 16 but I didn’t really believe it until a few years later  I had an amazing therapist who said something to the effect of ‘suffering through life rather than treating your pain with “unhealthy” coping methods is usually more damaging to the brain and often body in the long run’

So sad society shames itself for such  natural, sincere attempts at self-treatment and contentedness

Woof sorry if you read all of that - the main thing I was gonna say is that yes, for me as well, this site totally reduces the anxiety of being optionless add-wise in my near uninsured future

Welcome, friend!!!

Oh, and also, donating opens up a lot that might help so I personally recommend it. Also be sure to read most topics of interest from the beginning, contexts can thicken pretty quick lol and it’s a great way to learn how to write respectfully  for the form

@veggieragz

I completely agree with you, in that society definitely does make self medicating a taboo. Although there are risks associated with doing so, I believe that those risks should be measured in congruence with the "rewards" that accompany them, as well as it should be solely at the individual's discretion whether to do so or not.

I don't mean to say that doctors/psychiatrists/etc are not valuable or that their input isn't reliable. I just mean to say that I believe instead of them being the "gatekeeper" for medications they should be more like an advisor to help people find the right medicine(s) they need.

I loved what you said about suffering through life rather than getting help from "unhealthy" means is worse for our mental and physical health.

Thank you for commenting and sharing your story and insights!

  5. N @ necromedic: It was, indeed, and very soft. Would almost flow through your hands on a hot day.
  6. Mom&PopShop @ Mom&PopShop: I'm trying to remember what the texture was like.. I know it came in a pouch like chewing tobacco. I remember it being cut up in strips like shredded chewing tobacco too, was that the case???

  11. LatsDoodis @ LatsDoodis: Bubblegum rack? Like, boobies?
  12. LatsDoodis @ LatsDoodis: Don’t message people about things like veterinary care without taking care to mind the rules you two crazy nuts. More at stake than getting bad info or scammed, there’s predators out there looking for bigger fish and will step on a guppy to get to them. Fishing expeditions aren’t just for private citizens enjoying a calm weekend exploring the lake for a fish hookup. Offish of offishial fishing investigations may be looking for the best fishing hole and scare off the big
