My friend made an order from overseas. About the time it was expected to arrive ,instead of a package, a business card from a local police detective was on the door asking for a call. Any similar experiences? Thoughts? Advice?

Yeah, I wouldn't call. If it's important, they'll find you. You never know, they may want to ask you questions as to what went on next door. I've had that happen to me before. Any word on your letter? Did you receives it?

Have others had this experience? Ive been considering a purchase but now I'm too scared

Its a give or take with any payment..

i have had something seized but i got it very late with then letter on it saying my stuff wasnt illegal so they couldnt keep it but they warned me about dosing..LOL

had this happen due to a dirty dr I had: it's DEA and they usually show back up

Don't call / don't answer the door

I can explain what happened to me in this old thread

Yes don't call & don't answer the door for any one. Avoid f2f w/ the mail man, Unless your expecting a letter..

That's the one. Just disregard the note and don't answer any questions if they come to your house, it's in the 5th amendment that you do not have to provide identification, answer any questions, and so forth to an officer unless there's a court order involved.

Best thing is not to do anything, they will just seize the package and move on with their business. That was basically just a warning I guess, stay low for now until it cools down.

It might of been what some call a "trip wire" where they sting a lot of people at once in a short timeframe and all local police departments leave a note at your doorstep. Nothing will happen most likely, I can see why you're concerned but you'll be alright. Like I said, stay low for awhile and everything will be smooth like butter. These "trip wires" are generally used as scare tactics, they're after the bigger guys not you.

  1. Gulp2788 @ Gulp2788: whereas if I use fiat to buy something the money is green anyway. Monero does this really well. Anyway rant over, you can DM me if you'd like to talk more about cryptos.
  2. Gulp2788 @ Gulp2788: I don't really think that people understand the whole point of cryptos in the first place anymore. BTC just won't be adopted by governments because the transactions are too public and what's worse, money that is freshly minted is better than money that has been used. Like if my btc was used for something that was illegal does that mean the money is "poisoned"?
  3. Gulp2788 @ Gulp2788: @xenxra Yeah, Like I said I've never really been that fond of btc, it isn't used as a currency, just as a place for people to invest money in, even though the whole purpose of btc was to be a currency. If it doesn't fulfill that role, what does? Monero certainly does.
  4. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: What's good guys! Just got back home. Missing football today :( Fuck the probowl lol
  5. shoutback @ shoutback: Volkanovski is the greatest featherweight of all time. Better than Aldo or Holloway at their peaks.
  6. S @ sawganaut: I bet btc bottom is in
  7. D @ dragnetopher: No, I don’t think it. I know it. And it’s not just bitcoin, it’s all crypto. And like I said, they’re selling to acquire liquidity for when countries truly start utilizing what’s been set in place. The USD is under controlled demolition as we speak. This is all part of it.
  8. xenxra @ xenxra: there is no shortage of whales - https://tikolu.net/i/fmnru.png
  9. xenxra @ xenxra: tokenisation is not a plan its already been happening for months, ive been trading this whole move on silver through ethereum
  10. xenxra @ xenxra: you think whales are dumping bitcoin because of something everyone has known about for like 4 years? what does bitcoin liquidity have to do with trading tokenized assets? they don't have pooled liquidity.
  11. D @ dragnetopher: Whales are tanking BTC due to the fact that the future is coming now, literally. There’s a plan to tokenize every single asset possible. This is whales dumping so they can have liquidity for the Springtime.
  12. xenxra @ xenxra: @Gulp2788 this is a terrible spot to buy bitcoin haphazardly because it's going down another $5k -$7k if 80,000 doesn't hold. i told everyone to get the fuck out of bitcoin at $103k. it's better to buy late when the bottom is more certain than throw darts and act like the opposite outcome was unavoidable just because it went down "a lot" and everyone seems to be "freaking out". wait for it to get back over 85k
  13. xenxra @ xenxra: @aarons the last time i said monero was on discount in here it went up 5x in 3 months
  14. Gulp2788 @ Gulp2788: good opportunity to buy more btc if you are gonna do so imo, me I'm buying the btc to switch into better currencies
  15. Gulp2788 @ Gulp2788: bah politics, no need to worry BTC is a honeypot anyway
  16. fishladder @ fishladder: down since trump
  17. Gulp2788 @ Gulp2788: btc has been hovering around 90k for a year everyone is freaking out tbh I am laughing
  18. shoutback @ shoutback: Wow wasn't btc just at 120K or something?
  19. shoutback @ shoutback: Also 1.Usyk 2.Inoue 3.Crawford top 3 and anyone thinks anything else they are crazy
  20. shoutback @ shoutback: So what? No fight fans here?
