I’ve never taken much methadone before and may need it to keep me out of withdrawal for a day or two. Can anyone give me an idea how long a dose of methadone will keep you out of wd for someone that’s taking 300mg oxycodone and 100mg of morphine orally per day along with 2-3 mg klonopin? Could I expect to notice significant relief for 36-48 hrs? Also, is methadone like buprenorphine where it takes a while off off it to begin to feel the other opioids again?
Also any ideas on dosage? I know this is a dangerous question to answer for such a strong medication, but I have a pretty significant habit and could take 4-500mg oc a day without a problem. Would I try 40mg Mtd? 60mg? Also considering a large habit which is taken in about 120mg oc morning, 100 afternoon, 100 evening with bits of oral morphine taken along the way.
