How Much Privacy Are You Willing To Give Up?

With our increasingly intrusive government I see a lot of peopletrying to justify their actions with rationale like "I don't have anything to worry about because I'm not hiding anything" etc.

Well how far are you willing to go? How much privacy are you willing to give up in the name of security?

On a daily basis I'm reading about violations of our rights, freedoms, and privacy, the latest of which I read about is a town having installed video cameras in public restrooms, recording people even when in bathroom stalls. This has been going on for a good 10+ years and they justify it by saying you have no reasonable expectation of privacy in a public restroom.

So do you agree with this view or do you find it intrusive? Would you allow cams in changing rooms? In your car? Your house? Where does one draw the line?

The news reported is very sobering.

To tell you the truth, I don't think we have ever lived in a truly free country with privacy. That is one thing I want in my life is to be able to do what I what, when I want (as long as I am not endangering someone or something) without the fear of being violated in some manner or another.

Having cameras in restrooms is absolutely unacceptable and should be considered a violation of law. It's offensive to me as a human-being and especially since I'm from the U.S., which is considered "the home of the free". This is obviously not the case in many circumstances, although I do love my country. New Hampshire's state motto says it best; "live free or die".

I think the concept of "Willing" with regard to our privacy (or any illusion of it) no longer applies, and hasn't for a very long time.

  6. nameofuser11 @ nameofuser11: Set a reasonable limit. Hell fucking make it like buying cold medicine where they swipe your id and you can't get a bunch. But we know this isn't about logic or public safety. It's about money and control.
  7. nameofuser11 @ nameofuser11: AKA are such a bunch of fucking capitalist traitors. The liquor lobby has a lot of money in this as well.
  8. MorfineOrfan @ MorfineOrfan: The major plain leaf companies and the AKA are the ones lobbying against 7 and the other semi-sythetic derivatives, mgm this that and the other. We all know the chemist are just gonna mess with the scaffolding of the compounds and come out with new and even better semi-sythetic alkoloids of kratom. They are already playing with cats-claw
  9. MorfineOrfan @ MorfineOrfan: @moai just asked chatgpeetea and it looks like plain leaf kratom is safe, they arent banning it. Just 7-Hydroxymitragynine, MGM15 ,16 , and pseudoindoxyl
  10. MorfineOrfan @ MorfineOrfan: Wait... @moai they are federally banning plain leaf kratom too???
  11. moai @ moai: @MorphineOrfan how fucking stupid is this shit. We better see some new shit come out, I’m most upset about banning regular kratom because really? Millions of people have got off hard opioids with it. They must want everyone on methadone instead.

  14. Gulp2788 @ Gulp2788: If bans were done to logic so much of what is illegal now would end up prescription only and I think the powers that be react faster than they think... if they think at all
  15. MorfineOrfan @ MorfineOrfan: They aren't specifically targeting SR and 7oh
  16. MorfineOrfan @ MorfineOrfan: @RiftChems well sr-17018 is an orphine analogue after all, and they are banning all orphines so that makes sense. Orphines are spiking the OD death rates majorly these past few months.

  19. nameofuser11 @ nameofuser11: The ban of 7oh is gonna have a lot of people needing help soon. Assuming they do ban instead of regulate like they should
