Is it ok the message admin if I am having a problem with a vendor?

Do admins ever act as mediators? I have a vendor who accepted a payment of mine but then the product was sold out. They told me it was sold out, but has not responded to any of my messages since then to fix the situation. This was all through email. Should I try to talk to an admin or just post in their vendor thread? I am going to give them one more email tomorrow telling them I need a response or I will escalate.
