Is this a setup?

I ordered some yummies from an overseas vendor and didn't really pay much attention to the tracking. Well today I'm at home for lunch and the mail man comes by as usual and leaves. I watched him the entire time to see if he had anything special for me. I go check the mail and I have a "Sorry we missed you" slip saying my package will be at the post office tomorrow. I know for a fact he didn't attempt to deliver anything because I watched him pull up and leave while I was eating. I rescheduled it for tomorrow to be dropped at my door but was this the mail man being lazy or are they trying to get me into the post office?

The package itself came in a very timely manner from overseas, went straight through customs, then this happens. Does anyone have any experience with this or advice?

I'm leaning strongly toward lazy. I swear, most often, I don't think my post-person (guy/gal, varies) even has my actual package that 1st time, s/he left it at the P.O. and brought only the little peach-colored slip s/he plans to drop off when I'm not looking. Was yours a registered package, which you're supposed to sign for? Those are the most likely to get left behind, I've found, altho sometimes they get dropped off even w/out my signature. And one time, the mail-lady actually schlepped my package all the way up to my apt. Once, that happened.

However, my attitude is pretty casual. I tend to be fatalistic to the point of indifference about controlled deliveries, etc. I figure, if TPTB want to get me, they're gonna get me. And, if that's the case, my downfall probably will occur in a manner that does NOT require LE to hang out at my local P.O. all damn day, just waiting for me to come skippin' in to retrieve my goodies.

Just to follow up they just dropped it off at my door today even though I was supposed to sign for it so I guess it was just a lazy mailman, was worried because this was a lot of yummies and I don't think the shipping was very discrete for the size of the order. All's good though it seems. Thanks for the response.
