Hello fellow members I ask that We all PLEASE stay fresh up on the Board Rules .Its for our community safety, and I have noticed rule #7 and #8 not being paid much attention .If you know a Vendor before you post contact Admin. or Mod for Approval.

7) No promoting websites through the private message system.

If you receive any private messages promoting any service or products please forward the message to a moderator or administrator. Any member using the private messaging system to promote any commercial service will be banned.

8) Do not discuss vendors without a permanent website,we do not welcome discussion of email sources or vendors that do not have an established website.

Thanks All have a good day

Sincerely

DJ

thanks dj i will keep that in mind.
NP GM ,it just seems we all forget the rules of the Board at times ,Some members Posting sources (Vendors)NOT APPROVED by Admin or a Mod and that's a must before being presented to 10,000 members .And Thats what keeps all us Safe .

DJ

Unbelievable that's STILL happening given how many people have been scammed $$$ that way.

That kind of thing and through PM is the most typical way a scammed guess about his/her stealing.

Thanks Mods, Admin, etc for bringing this up AGAIN.

Maybe, just maybe, it's time for a zero-tolerance policy towards that in the DBG Rules?

Surely that would eliminate a lot of "insider' dealings which can ultimately lead to a scam. Good intentions or not, better safe than sorry. Just like the zero tolerance policy towards Pakistan sources.

Just my two cents. I trust you guys/girls would know best.

There is a zero tolerance policy in that if it happens it is taken down immediately...? Or do you mean zero as in they should be banned immediately?

Either way not sure our policy needs to change or how we deal with it, just need people to remember better haha.

 Xegh.

Nobody should post a vendor without contacting a Mod at least, pretty simple guys.. gals....come on !

Perhaps my idea is overly harsh, but what I think if a person doesn't take the time to read the rules as we're basically instructed to do (aren't we), and then goes ahead and violates the "Zero Tolerance" ones, then he/she should either be immediately banned, or given a final second chance if they've shown decent adherence and respect up until that one possible 'mistake'.

But as you know best, something more stringent needs to come in place, otherwise yet another scam will evolve.

Though I'm no Mod, so either way is up to you and Admin.

Best of luck on that one /default_smile.png

I think we try to be a bit more dynamic then zero tolerance rules. We try to judge a punishment on the circumstance, like you said if they are a great member and they do something stupid we let me know and they normally jump back into place and they jump back into place because they are good member..... If we either don't know someone very well or do and find them a nuisance as it is, then the punishment is going to be harsher or at least different.

I shouldn't think we should suffer from a grand scam again ( I hope i don't eat my words ). The reason for that is the mods we have here now, I don't see even a tiny bit of the dangerous personality types ... we all know what I am talking about, right?

Unless you are in war or a state of chaos dynamism is always preferred over Zero Tolerance ignore the facts, type legislation.

Isn't it great that we can have this discussion though with our members and debate it and see what you think, and he thinks and she thinks? That is fundamentally what makes us strong and gives us integrity.

BUT I DO STAND BY with Nomatter who you are even Mods a Vendor should be Run through Admin other Mods.

@Xegh.....Very fair minded and balanced approach.

Thus another perfect example of a decent Mod. Much more so than I'd ever be.

What I especially respect you for is your last paragraph how you state that it's nice we're able to have a conversation without turning it into an issue of "questioning authority" or belittling the person with intentions of participating in "brainstorming" on ultimately helping solve an issue.

Glad to know that this site has a wise group of Mods. Scammers beware. You don't stand a chance anymore.

Goodnight..

Yer I actively encourage brainstorming with the members where possible, that is how things get solved in Mod Corner as it is, but we welcome input from anybody, we may not agree but it doesn't matter.

Take DJ he is always my go to on this haha, great example of how things should work though.

When he signed up to be a mod he had a very different style to mine, now he is a little bit more like me and I am a little bit more like him.

I wont tell you which bits though because that would be rude.  /default_wink.png

The point is by trying to empathize with others we step into their shoes and learn a lot about them which means you learn a lot about yourself as well. Thus group discussion is essential.

No one guy has ever been right on his/her own. No one guy invented anything. No one guy is great with out others helping him/her get there. You look back through history and you may have people you idolize but non of them did it alone.

Yup once I thought I was wrong but it turned out I was just mistaken! /default_smile.png
