Kickbacks To Doctors

I have been seeing a pulmonary doctor for sleep testing 6 months now. He tested me for spleep anpnea and for narcolepsy. My tests came back positive for sleep anpnea, only 6.3 apneas, just above the cutoff for negative. I also tested positive for narcolepsy during nap test, of 4 naps, I fell asleep in about 5 minutes each. During 2 of the naps I hit REM sleep in 2 additional minutes. The doctor won't give me a note for work to explain why I nod off at my desk during the day at work or any medication to take me awake until my insurance money is gone for additional sleep tests. He also told me I had to buy the sleep apnea equipment and use it for 90 days. I am having an impossible time sleeping with this equipment strapped to my face. Does anybody know if there are monetary kickbacks to these doctor's?

Don't want to start an arguement but who would do the kicking back. The sleep clinic is a scam period. Try masage therpy and seee if that will help. But most sane Doctors will only take kickbacks are in the Plastic Surgery business if you ever been to a "Home" Botox Party. At 300.00 a head I don't really know if the get kick backs but they only take cash no CC so there rolling in cash anyway.

drug co repss give golf outings and other perks to top prescribers sadly payola is alive and well in the doctor business

thats why a drug co can reformulate the same drug and rake in the dough

Kickbacks are being buckled down on in larger hospital settings. If you sleep clinic is attached to a larger hospital, there might be less chance of your doctor being given an incentive. If it's a smaller independent clinic, he might have more opportunity. Sleep Apnea is definitely a serious medical condition, but I do have to wonder at the fact that EVERYONE I know that has done a sleep study has been found to have it (even my 19 year old cousin). The machine is hard to get used to, but it can definitely lead to better, deeper, more restful sleep. When I first got mine, I couldn't stand it, and the nose piece cut into my cheeks really painfully. Then I figured out that it was the wrong size, and got a replacement. Now it works great. It did take me a while to get used to sleeping on my back with it though (I used to be a stomach sleeper). You can rent the machines as well as buy them. Maybe you should try renting one for a month and see if it really does help or not. Since you’re just barely over the threshold, it might not be that helpful or it might be great.

  12. B @ bigblueallda: @drjimmy1964 lol I am actually surprised it is a real ID. I needed those documents because my license had been expired for over a year and I had to start all over. Nothing was in the system. It was a huge mess. I had no clue I was signing up for Real ID. They asked me for the exact same documents that I needed for a State ID Card.

  17. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @bigblueallda I was under the impression that you'd need all of the points to get a real ID . I'd check it's validity if you're gonna fly domestic any time soon, just to make sure. Not to tell you what to do, sorry -
  18. B @ bigblueallda: @drjimmy1964 In my state to get a Real ID, I need SS card, Birth Certificate and two proofs of residency. Which I am positive I had to provide to get a new ID when it had been expired.
  19. drjimmy1964 @ drjimmy1964: @Turbo259 advertising - putting in writing for example an negative action to show they are guilty prior to taking action.
  20. B @ bigblueallda: I haven't flown in an airplane in 20 years lol. Can't recall the last government building I have been in either. According to the symbol it tells me I should have on my ID to make it a Real ID I do have one in my state
