PHenobarbital is not at all enjoyable, rather its mostly a long lasting, tiring, uncomfortable downer that makes you feel sloshed. in all the crappy ways. Primarily only produced and Rx's for humans and animals with seizures disorders. BUTabital is another still RX'd for migraines and is very weak.

PENtobarbital is known as one of the most euphoric and addictive GABA drugs ever to see the light of day. Commonly prescribed until Diazepam was proven far safer. As of 2025, less than 100g is synthesized every year... Primarily for the purpose of a smooth cozy death. --- This and real PCP are the onyly two 'classic' street strugs I've yet to witness in my 15 years of markets. --- Consider it the lab grade heroin of downers. -- Mix a few cocktails with a few, death.... Binge for a month or two and cold turkey... Dead. Candidate for death row ... dead lol --- Read the few Erowid Reports if you like to daydream. -- They've begun phasing it out as a anesthesia indiuction agent as well due to how touchy dosing can be.

Seconal and Tuinal were the next most common back then. A bit more manageable. Nembutal (brand name for seconal?) were referred to as 'Reds". -- All barbituates are like extreme benzos but provide a thorough hangover for all the fun you had before.

Mebpromate (active metabolite of Carispradol is the most common barb still in widespread appreciation these days. Best chance of coming across an OG Barb's is knowing a vet, chemist, or a obscure pharma colector, personally). GHB and methaqualone & analogs are similar to barbituates in the sese "stupid happy" downers. However G and Ludes are more social depressants rather than hypnotic/anxiolytic sedatives.

Never heard of or saw them again after accidently getting her hooked on |)°p£ and she decided to combine the two despite my best effort to convince her otherwise and ended up in the ol ‘hab. Yup, your assesment is right on the money. Butibital/Acetaminophen/Caffeine -- Brand name: Fiorocet. Widely prescribed until 5 to 8 years ago when non-psychoactive treatments hit the market.

But gosh... the few times I've come across them, they seemed like child's play on their own. Three or four of them, was enough acetaminophen and caffeine to make em just not worth the effort. In hindsight though.... I bet the butabital supercharged any additional depressant.

From the first and second hand experiences & research, here's a rough comparison. Scale of 1 to 10 of GABAergic euphoria.

Butabital = 2.5
Pregabalin = 3 to 5

I guess I incorrectly remembered it having bar before the b¡tal, but now that you’ve said it I remember the brand name because I always told her she had the wrong ‘cet/set’, which was a dumb double entendre I came up with because I personally nicknamed her P£rky, for her tits and her D0C. But I always had Purrr(+k, they were actually Rocks C’s I always disliked that people called all ock sees the P name) and she always had the F!or. Hence the stupid inside joke of having the wrong cet, and she didn’t like her p£r key little Chesticles either so wrong set. Idk why I’m explaining this. Definitely not as funny to me now but pre-2010 teenage me thought I was a creative genius. Probably because of all the cets mixed with alcohol and everything else lol.

But I’m surprised it’s so low on that scale. I definitely remember much better experiences with it then I did any b£nz and for sure pr£-gabrielles. Maybe it just had better synergy? I know I liked it alone, although it definitely lacked and my view is probably a bit hindered because I’d only ever have it by itself when I didn’t have anything else to pair with it lol. Yeah my experience with fiorcet might just be different on a subjective level. I mean hell that scale is a combination of my personal experience and general consensus. ( The ratings on those old school rare barbs, are partly taken from old timers and the ObscureDrug subredit ... which is some serious drug porn btw. Im seething with jealousy after 20 minutes on there haha )

That list was like a general idea of the well known stufff. I keep a list of every substance I've tested, which is 183, not including combinations (idk if thats something to brag about, but I figured I should keep count lol. GABAergics are my favorite, so rating them all would take a fucking week

I suffer from Migraines and Seizures, the ,Migraines started when I was 12. The Seizures are a result of long term Benzo use, At 16 I would go crazy sitting in school, I could work over 40 hours waitressing, I did my homework but I perfected my mothers voice and missed half my sophmore year and passed. My parents took me to a shrink, despite my parents objections she thought I was anorexic. So to slow me down she brought out the benzo's. I have always suffered insomnia, so I only took them when I went days with no sleep. Anyway I continued to take my benzo like that until I moved out at 18 and life was stressful in different ways, I had migraines, IBS. RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) And my doctor increased the benzo and said take em to knock you out when you get a migraine, I'd had migraines that lasted over 24 hours that family members would carry me to the ER for a shot of Morphine. And I had scripts of the low key pain meds, darvocet, I had only had vicodin a few times and I hated Darvocet, so they considered Fiorecet a "Safe Pain Med to take at the onset" I honestly thought great another med that won't work and I'll just end up meeting my doc or going to the ER for a Shot. Now to think how they view Fioricet.
