I dont suffer it myself, but that's not a bad idea, though now that you have started a thread, maybe people will start sharing hopefully!

Yes, thank you for starting this thread...

Sadly I suffer from it, and I mean proper OCD. I get annoyed when people overuse the word OCD, like when people say if you keep your house clean you're OCD. No!

Quite often with me I get out of bed to check things I've already checked a million bloody times. Checking that the door's locked is bad as well, usually I have to go back to check. Sometimes I notice people have seen and I feel stupid...

I think my worst symptom of it is dripping taps...I feel like a lunatic saying this, but after I turn off a tap, I have to stare at it for 10-20 seconds to make sure it's not dripping...

This is despite me being prescribed mirtazapine and taking all sorts of meds...it makes me despair, nothing ever feels 'right'. =(

I'd like to hear if anyone else has any experiences on the subject.

Yeah now that's OCD. I am mildly OCD. Things HAVE to be a certain spot, facing  certain way or I obsess over it. If I decide to buy new bed sheets I will spend hours per day, days on end researching just the right color, stripes, no stripes, thread count AGGGGHHHH. lol I bought a motorcycle and spent more time researching and purchasing parts to upgrade that time actually riding the bike. I get obsessed with research, fact finding, redundancy, I just simply feel the need to control my environment.

OMG! I thought I was just being indecisive, takes me forever to actually buy something, and research and wait,(for what)lol) and then end up buying it. Funny, I thought I was just a little different. I mean even when a buzzard goes off, like dryer micro etc, it drives me crazy till I shut it off.I can clean and if I see one piece of something on floor, gotta pick it up.Weird, hard to focus, but when I do, I will go days looking for the answer I seek. So many dif things. My bro said to me once, you were always a lil bit different, Raz, a step to the side and to the back. Now it makes snese, which really doesn't help me, but good to know why im weird..Lol!  Thank u for bringing the subject up, now I don't feel all alone. You mean they actually give meds to help this? How bad do u have to be? Wait im too old to change

Take care all, and again, thanks for making me aware of this! Also thank u 4 letting me share my strangeness!

Strangeness is a good way to see it, it's good to see you feel quite happy with the way you are. I'm a bit jealous. My compulsion to triple check doors, dripping taps etc, I can't stand it sometimes.

But you're right, it's something more should be aware of.

Well, thanks for understanding what i tried to say! But, hey, if you arent happy with who you are, who else will be? At least I know im not crazy! Theres a word for it! Who knew? Try n have a sense of humor about it! Now Ill know why I just gotta turn off the microwave and know why I do!
