Offering from Clearnet site using Tor?

i know someone who ordered some mags from a trusted clearnet vendor site, but they used Tor. They paid for their order as usual but the order was set on “Pending/Processing”, then cancelled after payment. They paid for previous order on clearnet with no issue without using Tor.
So, is Tor a problem when buying from clearnet site? Anyone have some info on this or opsec advice about this?
