It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I bring to you the news that our DBG family member, LongWayDown, lost her father on Sunday morning after a long and difficult battle with cancer. Having just passed the 21st anniversary of the loss of my father, I know all too well the tremendous pain that comes with saying goodbye to a parent, and how there are simply no words that can mitigate it. With that said, I also know what an incredible blessing and joy it was to have had a loving father in my life, and I know that he's walked with me every day of these past two decades, just as I know that LWD's father will walk with her as well for the rest of her days.

Please join me in keeping her and her family in your thoughts and prayers as she faces the painful and difficult days that lie ahead, and that she find peace and solace in the many wonderful memories of a life well lived, and the ever enduring, unbreakable bond of father and daughter.

LWD.... I am so very sorry for your loss.  No words will ease what you are dealing with right now but as JB & H above, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time in your life.  If there is anything I can do, please do not hesitate to ask.  S-

I am so sorry to hear this and so very very sorry for your loss LWD.

We know what you are going thru and there are no words right now that can help but know that we are here for you and we do care.

You and your family are in our prayers and if there is anything I can do just ask.

I am so sorry for your loss.

LWD,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss - I cannot imagine the heart break that you might be feeling right now.  A father is someone that we girls look up to an carry and admiration for throughout our lives.  Someone that took care of us as little girls but remained there for us as women and was there to take care of us when we needed it then and now as well.  I know that your dad appreciated you 'paying it forward' when you took care of him this year as you were by his side while he was sick.  He was able to see how much his little girl loved him and what a great job he did in raising her.  I am sure that he carried great pride in that.

You are in my thoughts and prayers, keep your head up - he is in a much better place now.

^^ Double this^^ Just call when you can, I'd rather do it there, not here.....I WILL add though, if you (need to escape, or disappear) for a bit, we have and/or we'll make room.  That's all I'm gonna say here <3
DITTO!!!!!!!

Dear LWD, sending prayers your way. There truly are no words. Know that you have our support now as well as in the difficult days to come. Please let me know if there is anything you need, even if it's just an ear in the small hours of the night.

Warm hugs,

dvz

Hang in there Jewy your a good person and wise. If you can remember the good times the better... keep your chin up also sorry
Thank you for the concern and kind words Raymond, but I'm fine. I've had 21 years to come to terms and make peace with my father's loss. It's LWD that I'm concerned about right now, knowing how incredibly difficult it is to experience what she's going through.

LDW,

You have my sympathy. Having lost a father 13 years ago and being a father puts people like us in an unique perspective! For one I have experienced the loss of my own dad and know what you are going through, secondly I know from my own experience that my son will go through the same thing with me one day! The "circle of life."

Hi LWD,

That is crushing news to read. I hope you have family around you and that together you can find peace in knowing your Dad has found his peace.

Dads are precious!

It is my wish for you that you are supported and loved during this extremely difficult time.

Peace to you

Beranda

Thank you so much to everybody for your thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate and need them. The incredible sadness and pain I feel is not something I have ever felt before and is difficult to cope with. My mom, sister and I are all trying to cope with such a huge loss and somehow adjust to life without my dad- a "new normal." :-(

I ran out of likes- thank you again to everyone.

~ LWD ~

After being my mother's sole caregiver during her 6+ yrs. battle w/cancer, I lost my best friend, soul mate, mother & life long partner in crime a little over 5 yrs. ago.

Mere words fall far short.

I'm here for you, any time, no matter what ~

My thoughts, prayers, heart & soul are lovingly with you and your family.

Much light and love ~~~

More at stake than getting bad info or scammed, there’s predators out there looking for bigger fish and will step on a guppy to get to them. Fishing expeditions aren’t just for private citizens enjoying a calm weekend exploring the lake for a fish hookup.
