Dear DBG members, if I do not wish for my household to know that I am receiving a package, should I get a P.O. box? And if I have to sign for the package, how would that work with a P.O. box? How would I know if and when a package would arrive with a P.O. box? Any and all advice is much appreciated and well respected! Thanks guys!

i have had a package shipped to a PO box before and i didnt have to sign anything. when i got there it was just in there. you'll know when its delivered if the tracking says it is. but sometimes tracking isnt updated. ive had packages arrive without the tracking making any movement at all. you can always just go check. hope this helps!

If you get packages from the private carriers a USPS PO box would be a problem.  You would need to get a private mail box at u*s store,  p*stal annex, type of place and then you can receive from all the shippers.  And with those services the tracking is better and you will see when it arrives and who signs for it.  More expensive than a PO box though.  Or with the five letter shipper you can  just pick it up at a location and that's free.

Thanks Vngtxnes. I greatly appreciate your time and concern in regards to your response. Your thoughts help me understand and make a decision. Again, thank you kindly.

Toboso, I highly admire and appreciate your response in regards to my P.O. Box concerns. I will do my due-diligence on this matter with your advice. Thanks so much for your time and concern.

I have always thought this route is a bit more dangerous, in that you need to show up to pick up your mail. Is it me or does anyone else think I am just paranoid?

I feel the same way, however, I would rather myself be the only person in my household that is aware I am getting a package and that s why I have to choose another method. Sucks.
