And 256GB Samsung 850 Pro SSD.  This thing is way too fast.

I'm currently rocking an IMac 27" 3.5ghz quad core i7

16GB DDR3 Ram

256 Solid state drive

Running purely music software/hardware DAW applications...

Although it's cracking on now, about 2 years?...

I will be in the market for a new one soon...

Got mine in Feb 2014 as I had to upgrade my girlfriend's computer (her motherboard died).   I had an i7 950 3.06ghz (also very fast) for about 3 years.  Those i7 are too fast /default_smile.png   Still waiting for AMD to kick ass like they did with Athlon 64...../default_smile.png   I own a computer repair shop for a living.

 
I would like a 6 or 8 core i7 but then they cost way too much as of lates.

 
Although I won't be opting for the 12 core @ an extra £2400!!

Robbing bastards!!

 
Ha you probably wont even notice a difference from your i7 iMac, if you just do casual stuff.
