I may or may not have recently acquired 50 tabs of 25mg of "Sosegon" (Pentazocine). I had read a lot of good things about this med for pain, but so far, I haven't really had any good results. I am used to taking 120mg of Oxycodone a day, 1 60mg tab in the morning and 1 at night, which is RX'ed to me by my doctor, but went off the oxy'ss knowing that the pentazocine is a mixed agonist/antagonist. I was fully Oxy cleared for my first dose of Pentazocine, which I took 50mg in tablet form. I have only gone as high as 100mg, so..what am I missing here? Or is this just not as special of a painkiller as I thought it would be? (I knew i should have gotten the 2mg Subutex's...) Does anyone know if Jim'ms 2mg Subutexs have the nasty naltrexone in them, or are they the good old straight up subs? Just curious /default_smile.png Thanks in advance everyone. :)

Please anyone...I want to know if these Pentazocine's are either A)[ censored], which I very much doubt as they came from one of the most reputable vendors available, or /default_cool.png I am not taking a high enough dose, or something along that line. ANY help would be VERY much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Wow....NOBODY has anything to say about this med...?? come on guys...

It would appear that your tolerance is too high IMO. The amount of O you've been prescribed is a decent amount, especially if you've been taking it daily. The medication is question (P) doesn't hold a candle to the stronger pain meds. There a re few online conversion tables that can tell you how much of one pain med is equal to another (different) pain med. Also, from what I've heard, J's suBs do not contain naltrexone.

Well good to hear their will be no nasty Naltrex in the subs if indeed I order. I am not sure yet, I am on the fence between R's from the Mex vendors, or trying some different alternatives elsewhere...hmmmm....well at least I know to never order Talwin (Pentazocine). And yea, my doctor, is me...lol /default_smile.png My reg doc has me on 5mg vals 3x a day and thats all I can get from any doc around here as they all have the evil opiodphobia...BAH!

The subutex will free you. It did me. I wish you well on this quest.

Very old thread  but just thought I'd throw some discussion out there.

I'm not familiar w/ this stuff, but it seems to be similar to a Tram type med. Has anyone tried it? The almighty wikipeeda compares to morph.

I mean it is not a bupe-type med right? As used in weaning or detoxing? I'm wondering about it's everyday use for pain. I just saw it on a list and thought about maybe trying it out.

I had a prescription for this in the 90"s in the form of Talicin which was 25mg pentaz and I think 500 apap. I would compare it to a 7.5 of hydro but that was years ago pre any tolerance.

I actuallu saw it listed by a vendor and have thought about it. I need to know how long it shows on UA though.

If I get more info on the product I will update this. It should be in the next few weeks.

Does anyone have experience with Pentazocine 25 mg? A very reputable international vendor is offering 100 for $150. Is there anything to compare it to? Someone on this thread said maybe tramadol? (Which I struggled to wean myself off of for years...a real nightmare) Someone else said it was like a 7.5  hydro. I have a pretty decent codeine tolerance and fall back on tramadol only if I have to. Any recent info on pentazocine 25 mg would be appreciated?

Strength is somewhere between tram and hydro.  It does have an agonist affect for most other opioids though so if you ate not clean at time of dose you may precipitate withdrawl symptoms by taking it. It works for what it is, but it's not the greatest pk in a lot of ways.

Thanks for the explanation. The last thing I need is to go thru ccwd symptoms. I use poppyseed tea, which can be quite potent. I've been steadily tapering down from that with the help of purple footballs and codes. I had been on tramps for several years until it started interacting with other meds I have to take for fibro and bipolar. When I combined tramps. I had seizures, which it why it's so important that I don't take tramps. If pentacozine acts in any way like tramps I'm definitely not going down that route! Thanks again /default_smile.png

Different mechanism of action than tram but there's a reason it's not really perceived or available to many contraindications.

I got a hold of one in the mid 90's........wow talk about dopamine rush.......I coulda shot through the ceiling and landed in my chair
