I am making this thread to showcase my photography of Northern California but I welcome any and ALL PHOTOS that you would like to share with the group.

Pictures posted here don't necessarily have to do with medication. But by all means they can.

Any level of photography is encouraged to be posted. Cell phone pictures to DSLR and mirrorless cameras

Pretty much everything goes except nudity. Bodur photography is acceptable but please lets keep this rated and not rated XXX.

If admin or mods do not approve the photo's/art please remove before any confrontation with other members, as we are all adults here. Most of my photos will be landscape photography.

I suggest you post photos that are exclusive to this forum and are not posted anywhere else besides here. So that your identity cannot be revealed by reverse image searches! So keep that in mind before posting a picture :)

Look forward to seeing everyone's wonderful pictures.

Well this was more challenging than I thought to find how to down size my images to work on the forum. But I got the proper size down. Just have to learn to get the quality a bit better. I will find a way.. lol  :P

This picture was taken last year at Patrick's Point State park on top of Wedding Rock. Was such a nice day. Hope you enjoy.

I love the idea @humboldtguy.

When you have time, it would be a great help to the community if you could make a tutorial on how you resized and posted your pictures. I know I'm asking a lot and it's just a suggestion. I get asked for this on occasion and I am one who forgets how I did something 5 minutes after I'm through, so I have to relearn every time.

@2earls For sure. It was difficult to find the right resize without diminishing the quality and I still don't have it 100%. But I will definitely put a how to from what I figured out so far. The first photo I posted was a test. Not my best work but still a nice shot. This should be interesting..  lol

I think outsourcing where you host your pictures is going to be the way to go. The forum only allows attachments that can handle about 2 pictures. Making a dummy account for photo bucket or other image sharing sites will work better. Then we can share via URL. I'll test this more tomorrow evening when I am on my desktop and not my cell phone.

Much appreciated @humboldtguy. At least one member will learn something and that will be me. I have posted pictures on here, but don't have a clue what I did.

PS I'm curious if you know why it's called Wedding Rock?

@2earls it has a giant platform with a stone walkway on top of that huge cliff were they preform wedding ceremonies. Such an awesome spot. All along Trindiad is amazing rock cliffs like that with amazing views. :)

I am standing on the platform taking this picture so that's your background for your wedding if you have it there.

I am slacking on getting a guide to getting a tutorial for this thread. My work has been consuming me. It's almost 2am here and I felt so bad for not following up. I had to stop in and and say I've not forgotten. Friday or Saturday maybe? I'll be getting the info needed. I wanna see some more member pictures asap. So to be continued  ;)

Cause I am going to bed. Sick kids in the house also and that makes life tough. Only 2 out of 3 are sick so it will spread to my youngest next and then of course my spouse and I will be next. But I hope not. My poor littles are miserable  :(

Much love

Hey Humboldt, that's a beautiful pic. :0) I'm a black and white photographer (mostly) and love surreal, abstract, distorted photography/art. (I do coloured photos too, but lean more toward B&W.) It's nice to see others' photography too.

2earls, adding a pic is pretty easy. You just need to attach it in the file at the bottom, where it says "Drag files here to attach, or choose files...". Be sure to resize it to whatever size you want before uploading/attaching it here.  That's pretty much it. But you can also do what Humboldt suggested, which is to create a dummy account at Photobucket (or another image/storage site) and then link it via URL. On the right side of the bottom of each post box, there's a drop down menu that says, "Insert other media", which allows you to attach another image, or link it via URL.

Humboldt made a wise suggestion and that is, be sure that any image posted here at DBG is a single copy that is only posted here, and nowhere else on the web, to maximize privacy. Also, if you're a photo editor (like myself), be sure that your EXIF data doesn't contain any personal data, such as first or last name.

Hope this helps. ;0)

Pic details (in the above post): Taken at a park in a neighboring town. Lens used: Lensbaby Composer/in-camera effects.

Pictures I added didn't show up- will keep trying

I know this is an old post,  I stumbled across that somehow! Gorgeous photos! I can't even figure out how to get a profile image to upload on my phone... regardless of file size. The background image was easy. I can't share my artwork here, sadly. I work in gold/gems and it's too recognizable on the web. Thanks for sharing those beautiful images! I love anything art related, it put a smile on my face!!

  4. ClintEastwood @ ClintEastwood: Robert Duvall and a handful of others were a younger actors coach and always said no one worked as hard as those guys did. Robert Duvall and rest would read the full script 228 over and over, then after the last read they would go into how to perform their character. The young man had made it to meet Al who are greats and pull them to the side. And explain what his coach said. They all looked back and said out of every role you’ve seen me in. I have read it 228 by myself. 🫡 🫢 🫢 🫢

  10. Realbenzeyes @ Realbenzeyes: I always thought I should’ve been born in a much earlier time but I will say, i do enjoy my Xbox and occasional TV series tho 😂
  11. Realbenzeyes @ Realbenzeyes: I just wish the opioid epidemic never happened. Fk the turn of the century (which would be cool no doubt)! Many of my friends and family would’ve ended up in asylums like so many others. I just wish I could get back all those I’ve lost since the start
  12. L @ Layne_Cobain: 1914 I meant
  13. L @ Layne_Cobain: I often wish I lived during the turn of the century or at least before the Harrison narcotics act or whatever I think it was 1924 the fun ended but anyway yeh being able to get laudanum, ❄️ and amphetamine at the local friendly pharmacy
  14. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: Chew on the leaves with a bit of slaked lime and enjoy the mild boost you get from the raw base.
  15. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I’m sure you know the folks in the mountainous regions along South Americas pacific side buy cócà leaves at the local farmers market just to help acclimate to the higher elevation when they have to head up into the hills.
  16. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I would certainly have bought it, swilled it, enjoyed it…. Why not? A little boost in your juice isn’t going to hurt anyone.
  17. R @ Royboy99: Exports were reported to have around 7.2mg per FL OZ, it’s success is what actually led to Coca Cola
  18. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: Having cramps and husband thinks you’re acting hysterical (ie. PMS) the doc would either perform a certain massage to relieve the strains of motherhood and family life of that time or send you down to the local apothecary for a bottle of laudanum… A tincture of alcohol and 10% òpìųm. Fun days huh?
  19. R @ Royboy99: @malestrom: yeah thats it, my bad Mariani, yeah i considered that and also its ROA, which was oral so the bioavailability was lower than insufflation, higher degree of purity tho and longer duration … there was a significant marked increase of patents filed by Edison during the time it was released in the US. Presidents were known to use it as well, and the Queen. The pope awarded the wine the Vatican gold medal award
  20. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I think it was called vin Mariani. But yeah, it was all the rave back in the turn to the 20th century. Original formula Coca Cola did it for a while too. I think it was pretty weak though. Something like 200 mg per liter of wine. Enough to maybe give you a little push but unless you could pound some serious alcohol, it’d be hard to really feel the effects before the ethyl knocked you down on the ground. It was an interesting time period. Laudanum was a “hysterical” woman’s best friend.
