Has anybody got info on the urgent care clinics and there view on benzos? I have a diagnosis for panic disorder among other things but the clinic I'm being seen at has a no narcotics policy so I can't get any xanax which has been the only effective medication so far.
I've recently been prescribed 2 scripts from an urgent care clinic. Both for Cl0naz3pam. The first prescriber was LPN, who wrote for 30, 2 mg 2x daily. Not much. Suggested I find mental health clinic, which I'm on. When that one ran out (way after it should have at the 2.x2 dose, the second doc was M.D, who felt a lecture on benzos and the efficacy of SSRIs was in order. I wanted to shout, but kept my cool as he wrote for another 30, at 1/2 to 1 mg up to 3x daily.
My take is this: they'll help in the short run, but in the end they're not gonna sustain your need for ongoing med management, Finallly I went to my PCP who once said I "would never give you kpin" but after a brief, honest discussion she said she'd prescribe until I got into the mental health system, which is literally 2 months out. Good enough because I'm not doing well lately. Been off benzos for a couple of years, but with this diagnosis, as you prob know, life can feel like a roller coaster at times.
X@n@X is also the most effective med in my case, but it's disliked by nearly every prescriber except psychiatrists, afaik. They always want to go with the Kpins. Maybe a more assertive role is needed in my case. IDK. I can't PM, but feel free to hit me back if I missed any pertinent questions.
