Posts vs Rep

Hopefully this topic isn’t somewhere I missed. Asking for clarification. For VIP status, we have to have 500 posts. Are posts and reputation correlated? I know the posts have to be of quality but what determines that?  The bar under our username represents our reputation which is not factored into post quality?

Reputation is how many people like your posts. The quality of posts issue is only to prevent members from posting 500 "I aggrees" or speed posting just to get the 20 posts to pm.

That clears things up for me too. I wasn't trying to post garbage anyway but I was wondering why my count was remaining the same. I will be sure to like helpful posts everytime now. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work after all.
