Prescription Only Importation

Say, hypothetically, one wanted to have an unscheduled but prescription-only drug (e.g. memantine) shipped into the United States. Presuming customs did their due diligence and determined that the contents of the package were a no-no, they would obviously seize it, but what further could happen? Essentially, what are the legal ramifications surrounding the importation and possession of unscheduled prescription-only drugs? To clarify, I have no plans of doing this and do not suggest anyone attempt to---I am asking purely as a matter of legal curiosity.

Well when it comes to Memantine it's not exactly something to worry about. Any Letter you would get I would be essentially meaningless in a nutshell.

@mrtostados ..Depends where you reside..you could end up with a 'N'# on C yard at Tehachapi...or..like what happened to me..a phone call from UPS agents..Thank God it end well...
