Problem finding a doctor who will listen

Okay so this might be a long post but here goes. I've had scoliosis since i was 13 but the scoliosis wasn't that bad back then. 8 years ago i got pregnant with my son and the extra weight really did a number on my back. They call it a double major curve and every doctor who has done a X-Ray (mostly in the ER) has told me that i am lucky i am not blind because of the severity of the scoliosis. It seriously makes my lower back muscles so tight that it hurts to move. I did have a doctor who was treating me with 0xy and n0rcs who was run out of town by the head of the hospital he worked under. I will admit he was writing a lot of PKs for a lot of people and that i did have an addiction problem that i was able to kick last year (Anything with 0pies was like candy to me).

Until a month ago i avoided doctors because 1) They will blacklist you if they think you are 'doctor shopping' and 2) I began having panic attacks even while in the waiting room to see a nurse practitioner or even waiting with my son to see his doctor. But then the pain began to get worse so i thought i would go see a new doctor in town who no one really knew much about. The first time i saw him i told him about my stomach problems and he gave me something for IBS (when it is probably just an ulcer) and left without hearing me out about other problems i have (like asthma or the aforementioned scoliosis). I decided to give him another shot (pun intended because i need a birth control shot) and see if he would hear me out this time.

Long story short i asked him to become my primary doctor and he said he couldn't because my birth control went against his personal beliefs. So at that point i wasn't even going to tell him about my back and just left. Well the pain hasn't subsided but has been helped by a few places here and for that i am grateful. But i know i will need surgery probably sooner rather than later and it's not like i want to get back on the 0xys or anything with 0pies really. It doesn't help i live in a county where *almost* everyone who gets help doesn't actually need it. So does anyone have any advice or maybe been in the same situation? How can i find a doctor that will listen, not judge me on my past and maybe even help me with the pain or even in getting the back surgery?

Thanks in advance for any advice and i hope i haven't broken any rules by posting this.

Ever since the D3A"s war against Drs who prescribe pain meds started most Drs are scared to write pain meds especially to new patients. I would g00gle <Drs who will prescribe pain meds in my area *with your area code*> I've had Drs stop treating me cause they thought I was shopping, I've seen Drs known to write scripts easy lose they're licenses, lately they have access to all your prescriptions so you can't see more than 1 Dr for pain meds. First time you see a new Dr they will actually look up all your prescriptions filled in the last 1~2 years. The other night a pharmacy refused to fill my script because I used a different pharmacy last time to refill and my Dr had raised my dosage. So I made them call my Dr who OK'd it, the only reason I used a different pharmacy for pain meds was my usual pharmacy was out. I noticed it's easier to get pain meds written to you then actually finding a pharmacy to fill them. I used to just see the local less known Drs, I've found them to not to panic that maybe they're writing too many scripts. Couple years ago I found a Dr who was very liberable when writing scripts till people from other places who were shut down started piling in her office for pain meds. She would tell me to stop going to pharmacies that had to call her to OK certain prescriptions, she then raised her price from $60 a visit when I started seeing her to $250 a visit cash only for pain patients. Eventually she started dropping all her pain med patients who have been there awhile.  She would say I can only see you a few more times & to find a new Dr because theirs a limit on this how much I can write of this medication. BTW; isn't it illegal for Drs or anyone to base something on they're beliefs against birth control? You must live in the Bible Belt region I'm guessing?

I've never had a problem with the pharmacies (there are only 2 in this town) but they have given my husband (who they know since they all grew up together) a hard time when he went to pick up meds for my mother even after she called and let them know he would be coming to get them. I thought it was illegal as well, the doctors oath and all that. Yeah, i live very close to the bible belt so it kind of carries over. I even told my husband that unless he is only treating 90-year-olds or people who can't have children then he has to be writing for birth control.

It's just getting so frustrating. There is a so called Dr f33l g00d a few towns over but i am weary of using him as he will retire in the next few years and i have been told that if i was to go see him that i would be blacklisted from doctors in the surrounding counties just for being associated with him. I know someone who had a DR similar to yours who would raise the price of the visit just because she was going in for @dds. She got in trouble for Dr shopping and had to find a Dr in another state. Heck, up until a few years ago there were quite a few people who would drive from other states to see a Dr here that was very loose with his prescription pad until the D3A caught on and he fled to some tropical island somewhere.

Thank you so much for your advice :)   I will try to g00gle and hopefully find someone.

  4. ClintEastwood @ ClintEastwood: Robert Duvall and a handful of others were a younger actors coach and always said no one worked as hard as those guys did. Robert Duvall and rest would read the full script 228 over and over, then after the last read they would go into how to perform their character. The young man had made it to meet Al who are greats and pull them to the side. And explain what his coach said. They all looked back and said out of every role you’ve seen me in. I have read it 228 by myself. 🫡 🫢 🫢 🫢
  5. ClintEastwood @ ClintEastwood: Sorry for comment below, but I couldn’t delete. Know I see the

  11. Realbenzeyes @ Realbenzeyes: I just wish the opioid epidemic never happened. Fk the turn of the century (which would be cool no doubt)! Many of my friends and family would’ve ended up in asylums like so many others. I just wish I could get back all those I’ve lost since the start
  12. L @ Layne_Cobain: 1914 I meant
  13. L @ Layne_Cobain: I often wish I lived during the turn of the century or at least before the Harrison narcotics act or whatever I think it was 1924 the fun ended but anyway yeh being able to get laudanum, ❄️ and amphetamine at the local friendly pharmacy
  14. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: Chew on the leaves with a bit of slaked lime and enjoy the mild boost you get from the raw base.
  15. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I’m sure you know the folks in the mountainous regions along South Americas pacific side buy cócà leaves at the local farmers market just to help acclimate to the higher elevation when they have to head up into the hills.
  16. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I would certainly have bought it, swilled it, enjoyed it…. Why not? A little boost in your juice isn’t going to hurt anyone.
  17. R @ Royboy99: Exports were reported to have around 7.2mg per FL OZ, it’s success is what actually led to Coca Cola
  18. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: Having cramps and husband thinks you’re acting hysterical (ie. PMS) the doc would either perform a certain massage to relieve the strains of motherhood and family life of that time or send you down to the local apothecary for a bottle of laudanum… A tincture of alcohol and 10% òpìųm. Fun days huh?
  19. R @ Royboy99: @malestrom: yeah thats it, my bad Mariani, yeah i considered that and also its ROA, which was oral so the bioavailability was lower than insufflation, higher degree of purity tho and longer duration … there was a significant marked increase of patents filed by Edison during the time it was released in the US. Presidents were known to use it as well, and the Queen. The pope awarded the wine the Vatican gold medal award
  20. Maelstrom @ Maelstrom: I think it was called vin Mariani. But yeah, it was all the rave back in the turn to the 20th century. Original formula Coca Cola did it for a while too. I think it was pretty weak though. Something like 200 mg per liter of wine. Enough to maybe give you a little push but unless you could pound some serious alcohol, it’d be hard to really feel the effects before the ethyl knocked you down on the ground. It was an interesting time period. Laudanum was a “hysterical” woman’s best friend.
