Question about Powder Storage

When you receive grams of powder what do you guys usually do with it for best storage? I was thinking of just keeping it in the bag and using when necessary.  Wondering if transferring between bag and some type of vessel would result in too much loss in mgs of powder or am I wrong? And if so what do you store them in?
