Reminder: thank your mail carrier

There's a thread/threads on this somewhere, but I wanted to remind people that use US Pee S to leave their mail carrier a thank you note and maybe a small gift around this time of year. The gratitude will vary by the person obviously, but many will appreciate it and be less likely to ask questions about any patterns they notice. In the end, it certainly can't hurt to do it. It is well worth the time, IMO.

It certainly couldn't hurt and it's just a nice thing to do even without ulterior motives. Everyone likes to be appreciated!

I rarely see the drivers unless they are delivering something that requires a signature and then it's never the same face twice. Maybe I should give them a big box of candy to hopefully take back to the office with my address in bold letters on it?

That sounds like a good idea. If you have a "regular" mailbox, i.e., one that is on the street, you don't have to see the driver. The mailbox should have a flag on the side. If you put that flag up it indicates there is outgoing mail inside. So, you can put something in there with a note and put the flag up and they'll get it. Just make sure something on the outside of the letter/package indicates its for them.
