Can the minimum 4 character restriction on searches be lifted? Seems like a silly and arbitrary limit. There are plenty of reasons why someone might want to search for a three letter acronym.

There's gotta be a technical reason for it, like pulling up thousands of posts by searching the word and or the or even worse, LE. What are you searching for anyway? Maybe I can help. Pm me.

This caught my eye because I use to be quite involved in search algos, SOUNDEX & much more. Loved it!

In the Google search box, you can use Advanced Operators to searh for, say 3 letter terms on a site:

site:drugbuyersguide.com +"OTC"

I used an innocuous term I had posted recently for this example, but I guess it wasn't indexed yet.

For that matter, I question why ALL our forum posts are indexed in the SEs.

======

Don't worry about data mining & the Wordtrackers -- There are a billion Google queries a day.

======

The 4 char forum query dates to when server bandwidth was at a premium, AFAIK.

And no, it's not meant to thwart 'LE'....

  12. LatsDoodis @ LatsDoodis: Don’t message people about things like veterinary care without taking care to mind the rules you two crazy nuts. More at stake than getting bad info or scammed, there’s predators out there looking for bigger fish and will step on a guppy to get to them. Fishing expeditions aren’t just for private citizens enjoying a calm weekend exploring the lake for a fish hookup. Offish of offishial fishing investigations may be looking for the best fishing hole and scare off the big
