SR/TR Tram Caps

Was wondering has anyone had an experience regarding taking SR/TR trams by breaking the cap and consuming the powder?

Recently took around...I'd have to say 50mg which was half of one and I do feel kinda funky, my chronic pain is easing up but not going away unlike the stronger PK's.

Symptoms after 30 minutes of a low dose was mainly an upset stomach but nothing serious. I'm going to give it some more time to see what it can do seeing it should of hit my blood stream by now. Should feel it kick in soon hopefully, if not (after 1-2 hours) I'll just take the other half of the dose.

Can't swallow pills (including caps), so had to resort to this seeing I can't get prescribed tabs. Anyone else here do this to get a faster acting result out of trams to treat your chronic pain?

I'm aware of the side effects and the danger of it which is why I stuck with a low dose. Would just like to make that clear.

I've used SR caps @VII, though inside the cap there isn't powder but little spheres of the active ingredient, obviously designed for sustained release. It certainly will get into your system faster, but perhaps the IR caps would be a better choice for you? You're right to be cautious with what you are currently doing at the moment though.

There were no spheres, just powder. The caps were very weak, so I assume I took the right thing. I took the full amount and it did help with my pain but one specific part of my body still hurt pretty bad for some reason...helped with everything but that in that specific area.

Seems like a very weak opiate, but can see why doctors prefer to prescribe these apposed from the higher end ones. Thanks for your input.

It's an opioid, synthetic. It does have its advantages, but it works as an SNRI(?) antidepressant also, can be a very tough med to kick if dependence sets in. ?

Turns out these were 50mg caps, no wonder I felt virtually nothing. Any antidepressant works against me for some reason, would explain some of the negative effects. All I got out of 50mg was uncontrollable motor ticks (not seizure related) which is what most antidepressants do to me.

Staying away from these, going to have to discuss this with my doctor seeing this is unacceptable to prescribe such a thing after knowing my medical history.

Thank you so much for informing me about this, wouldn't of known unless you told me.

No worries @VII! I can't believe these were prescribed to you then. So they are just normal IR trams then? 2 would have perhaps helped more. But wise decision to give them a miss under current conditions.

I've got good connections with doctors, that's why I was prescribed them. When I had chronic testicular pain my doctor wanted to put me on trams but I told her no, I will not accept this. However, seeing this pain is literally driving me mad she helped me out. The key is never ask for things, take their advice even if it's bad advice and you know it won't help and move from there. Basically I never asked for anything until now, 4 years later.

These were 50mg HCL trams that I got prescribed recently (this week) which 50mg had the strength close to a decent viking. $11 USD for 15 from my pharmacy (the HCL prescribed to me) isn't a bad deal! I just called in for an extension for them seeing my oral surgeon won't help me until the 6th of next month. So getting enough till then gladly.

The tram caps are useless in my opinion. I'd go with the HCL tabs over ANYTHING, any time, any day. So if you're looking for a good one, the HCL trams seem to be VERY high quality-- 100mg is equal if not more than 10mg of a good viking.

It's generally caps we get prescribed in my part of the world, I prefer them for how quick they start to work, but I've had tablets also, no complaints from them either, just a little longer to feel effects.
