Hey all.

In the past, my girlfriend was expecting a letter to be sent. She had received a Trax #, and looked it up. It was with a 4 letter post service, and was us 2 us. The day it was shipped, it read that the office had received the item. Then it never updated past that. It also had an expected delivery date, and that date came and went, and it never updated, it just showed the same info. I forget how it turned out for her, but if you were in that situation what would you do?

Woukd it have best to reach out to the person who sent the letter to ask their advice? Wpuld it be 'normal' for today's standards with all the delays ect? She didn't want to be in contact with the office dealing with her letter.

At the time, it was only a few days past the expected delivery date, how long should she have waited before reaching out to someone? Or would it have been best for her to just forget about it.

Thanks all, hope someone can give advice in case this ever happens again!

@Dribble  yes, i would reach out to the sender and see what they say as they will have better ideas about shipping times.  You can also try other trackers (parcelsapp or 17track for instance) if the letter is coming international as they provide better info than the standard tracking via the 4-letter carrier as to what is happening on the senders end postal service.   Also, if the item is still in transit internationally, for instance by boat or whatever, it will not update.   I would not recommend getting in touch with the 4-letter service about any lost/missing items.

@DoomKitty

Thank you for the advice. Yes I like 17 track. As I mentioned above, I was inquiring about us 2 us. I'll take the advice. Ty.

@Dribble  Ooops, missed the domestic part, sorry!  I would say the same advice really.   Its possible they live in an area that sees a high amount of congestion and delays.  Where i work we send out lots of domestic orders and most everyone arrives in the predicted time, but at least a few a month take ages longer and at least 1 a month vanishes.  We had an incident last year where somehow every single order we shipped that day just vanished.  The PO had no clue what happened or where the packages were.   Even if the vendor doesn't do reships, i always think its good to inform them so they are just aware.   I would wait at the very least a few weeks b4 leaving a review in their thread, just in case the package does suddenly move.

  5. D @ drdrizzy13: Have a good run bro.
  6. D @ drdrizzy13: yeah i'd rather them win than the Pats
  7. shoutback @ shoutback: Oh and GO SEAHAWKS
  8. shoutback @ shoutback: Anyways I have to get ready to go on my run, it's been fun talking
  9. shoutback @ shoutback: I think when we have open discourse without preconceptions we all agree more than we disagree
  10. D @ drdrizzy13: Oh I totally agree and I agree the War on Drugs was and is a complete failure.
  11. shoutback @ shoutback: I'm not trying to say my point of view is better than others, just think we need to have more open and honest discussion about everything
  12. D @ drdrizzy13: You are right it probably doesn't. It has pretty much ruined my other first cousins live. He is so out there. It just sucks to see ya know. They take it to the extreme.
  13. shoutback @ shoutback: @drdrizzy13 your exoerience does not reflect the overall mainstream
  14. D @ drdrizzy13: yea for sure.
  15. shoutback @ shoutback: This is one of the few places in the internet where we can freely discuss this things and taking reactive stance like fentanyl and zenes are the devil do not promote a heathy discourse on the subject, though I understand admin also does not want to be under constant threat of people like the dea and fda
  16. D @ drdrizzy13: Honestly I can't think of any alcohoclis except for a friends Dad. I haven't drank in 10 years. I don't really hang around peole that drink or go to bars. I just hate being around drunks lol. And going to bars sucks if your not drinking too.
  17. shoutback @ shoutback: We don't work on something and do not continue developing with developing safeguards and appropriate treatment methods we adapt to what we learn. How many people do you know with alcohol addictions ? How many violent rapes and murders do we see happen under someone under the influence of alcohol yet alcohol is not demonized in the way fentanyl is and that affects much less people. Let's not be hypocritical. The prohibition model does not work and this is no place where we should be promoting it
  18. D @ drdrizzy13: I agree with that point.
  19. shoutback @ shoutback: They would not been sought after by mainstream users if things like heroin were not so criminalized
  20. D @ drdrizzy13: portugal demcrined drugs in 2001 for personal use. It worked for a while. They saw less ODs but now it says in recent years it has scene an increase in ODs and drug related crime. So i guess it worked there for a couple of decades lol
