Not sure this is the right section, so mods feel free to move if necessary. So, my next refill date (Day 27 since last filled) for my hyrocodone was this Friday. I received a letter from [chain pharmacy] on Saturday saying that the rescheduling is effective tomorrow (10/6) and that all refills from scripts originally filled prior to that date would be cancelled (lost). Well, first of all, that's fucked up because the new law explicitly grandfathers the refills on scripts filled prior to the rescheduling (up through March or April of 2015). I know some States have overridden that provision, but mine is not one of them. I only had one refill remaining before my next office visit, but it would still be a major pain the ass to try to reschedule. This doc is hard to get in with.

Well, I called the pharmacy, and they said there was nothing they could do. They couldn't refill early without the docs go ahead, but today is Sunday, no way to get anyone to call in and tomorrow will be too late. I just figured I was fucked. I expressed my frustration, but was also polite and acknowledged that it wasn't this pharmacist's fault personally. End of story, or do I thought. About a half hour later, the pharmacist calls me, says he's been thinking about it, and that he'd be willing to fill it as it wasn't my fault and it was just kind of a tough situation all around. When I picked it up, he told me he helped me out because I was polite, whereas other customers have been real assholes. Lol, huge win!

And the lesson is? It pays to be polite :-).... Some of the people around here need to take a leaf out of your book Mr Crowley... The word 'civilised' is an alien concept to some folk and unfortunately that will never change...

However! Strike 1 for the good guys :-)

In the work I'm in, the clientele that interact with are not at their best physically or financially so it is understandable stress levels run high. (It is a little like social work). That sd, I AM there to help them even though I'm many time considered an adversary sometimes. I am always SO thankful when I happen to run across someone who is polite and understands that I am bound by rules and laws, much like this pharmacist. While I do my dead level best to be fair to each individual, I will go out of my way to help someone when they are considerate and not an ass.

One really does catch more flies with honey. Good for you Mr. C! Glad it worked out for you!

That is amazeballs! Great to hear a positive story when there are so few when it comes to this kind of thing.

Good to know. Tomorrow is the "big day" of unpleasant change. My refill of my whopping 5/325s should be ready...I was worried, but I actually got a call saying it was ready :)

  1. xenxra @ xenxra: y'all
  2. D @ drdso: It's scary now fr. I'm guessing we're gonna see a lot of exit scammers for former "reputable" veteran vendors. These tariffs/supply chain issues are causing them not to receive product due to seizure/denial. At a certain point they gotta get there money somewhere. Just be careful who you buy from y'all
  3. T @ timyboy: How ya'll doin
  4. D @ dichlorodavid: Ah thanks for the clarity on the strike. I wasnt aware that this is cont'd from the 2024 strike. Hope they reach terms this time (quickly!)

  10. Alkazar @ Alkazar: It is really annoying\
  11. Alkazar @ Alkazar: Technically they were forced back to work the last time they went on strike in 2024, so this is the same strike for the same reasons in 2025.
  12. Alkazar @ Alkazar: I dont know how to direct reply to people on here. But the Canada Post strike will affect any mail coming from the US. It will be held at a facility until the striek is over. Mail that is being sent from CAD to the US will just not be picked up. It all has to be private delivery services now.
  13. Z @ zdaBa: Happy Saturday, love you all <3

  17. xenxra @ xenxra: @LW815 from my experience, CP strikes usually tend to leave the snails alone
  18. xenxra @ xenxra: I hardly knew her!
  19. C @ Callmejonah: methadone
  20. LW815 @ LW815: @Alkazar would that effect snail mail arriving to the US from CA in any impactful way?
