I have a part-time module to pick for next Autumn/Fall. I am sick of studying English Language, so have decided on two courses - just don't know which one!

One is "Greek and Roman Mythology", with only an end of term assessment, at home. I know bits about this.

The other is "Roman History" which I have read over 20 books on. Unfortunately, half the grade is subject to an end of term exam. The last exam was in Art History, and I completely blew it; having panic attacks throughout. I would enjoy this course more, and have a lot of knowledge, but worried about the exam.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. x

Greek and Roman mythology I'd say. Not just purely based off of your exam experience. You know less about this topic and it's perhaps best to pick something that takes you a little outside your comfort zone and gain more knowledge in. As opposed to breezing another module. I taught for years and there is many ways to train yourself to combat the stress of exams but if you aren't comfortable with the idea then maybe it's not worth the risk. If it was up to me I'd get rid of end of term exams entirely, it's an absurd concept especially when so many people do react differently to exam conditions.x

Definitely agree with getting rid of exams. It isn't a level playing field when you have stress, mental illness etc. Still undecided, but I will consider your words, thank you.

If you need any further advice you know what to do. I was a college then university lecturer for a few years. I'm always here to help if I can.x

That's really cool. My Aunty was a lecturer in Anatomy, but kept getting bullied, so quit. She now does medical French translation.

I hope to do Postgrad, eventually! x
