This is a new doc I made from my original, now possibly deleted post. It includes new information to further increase OpSec via the Sept 2025 Addendum section you will see below the original, largely unchanged post content. I also moved it to rentry vs. pastebin and can edit further if needed going forward. If I do, I will make a post announcing that here in this thread.

If you're looking to get started with purchasing and using BTC in a relatively safe manner, this is how it can be done. Keep in mind, I am no authority on this, but it has consistently worked well for me and without issue.

Anymore I prefer BTC ATM's, quick and low fee's. Just Google BTC ATM's near you

No issues with that approach, but are you not on-camera then at a BTC ATM, which is ostensibly not great opsec compared to a just using a normal ATM and making an extra stop?

YMMV. But totally you could do that. I just never trusted them, personally.

your addendum logic is completely flawed from the start. cashapp is a fincen regulated company and crypto is not fringe anymore, it's not illegal or "suspicious" to own or purchase crypto and they're not going to flag your account for spending money on an app that is designed for spending money. i never had issues with this kind of thing way back in 2014, nobody is going to care in 2025. there's no legally defined standard for how people are allowed to structure their finances. this is basically tweaker levels of paranoia.

Are you a lawyer? Specializing in finance fraud or similar cases? I didn't think so. "I haven't had an issue since 2014" hardly qualifies as hard evidence that my addendum was "flawed."

I don't know why people can't have civilized conversations on here or other forums, Reddit, social media in general without becoming frothy. You linked some good material, I made and shared some good material. Let the good people of DBG figure it out between the two (and many more I am sure).

And yes, I know crypto isn't inherently "evil" or meaning you're up to no good. Maybe I'll re-word that a bit to make it a bit clearer that it's not the intent. But, that's the issue with the written word now, isn't it? Nuance and tone is poorly conveyed depending on who might be reading it. I couldn't be less paranoid, Xenxra.

However, being in an adjacent field with years of experience (guess you'll have to take my word for it), Bank of America continually seeing "CashApp" w/d for several hundred dollars perhaps 2, 3, 4 times per week will potentially flag an account. Doesn't mean they are going to do anything about it. But, by doing this via cash-loading, don't you think that adds a layer of safety? I acknowledge the ATM has a camera and so do retail outlets. One could make a flimsy argument that those things could be used to track someone for this singular purpose. But, I doubt it highly and that's some fringe paranoid thinking. Not what I wrote, which vendors have thanked me for providing for their use. So, I will take their years of experience on the other side of this magazine sub business over your critique any day.

Have a good one.

i've read numerous criminal indictments about these types of things over the last decade, i do have a background in law - more specifically CRYPTO COMPLIANCE, yes and i've spoken to vendors and people who work in the regulatory field on crypto about these types of things. I've also had interactions directly with the FBI and exchange employees about this kind of stuff and that's verifiable through a couple people on here. The rest of your reply is irrelevant due to that fact so I won't bother reading it.

Stop making assumptions about what experience you believe other people have for whatever your basis on that take was. There are plenty of people on here with backgrounds in higher education fields.

Also, when I said "I haven't had an issue since 2014" - "i" was more of a catch-all for "me and well over a couple hundred people i've spoken to about the same activities in that timeframe"

Have a good one.

Just like you'll have to take my word for certain claims I made, I have to take any claims you make about research or potential expertise, professional or not, with a lot of salt. So, a crossroads it appears.

DBG users can use my guide or not. I really don't care. I enjoyed writing it.

Adios.

Buy BTC on any reputable site. Exchange it for Monero on a good DEX. Buy BTC again with your XMR. Clean unlinked BTC now owned. It's not hard.

You are more than welcome to make your own guide if you'd like. This is just one person's take on it, that's all.

Never meant to belittle your effort, just wanted people to understand it's uncomplicated. Sorry.

No apology needed as I didn't feel belittled, but I do appreciate the sentiment. Thank you. We all know again, as I said earlier in the thread, how nuanced written communication can be. Sometimes something is read in one tone by person A and a completely different tone by person B.

Learning how to write in a universally digestible tone is actually an incredibly difficult skill and even I screw that up at times and have found myself apologizing for different things when they were taken the way that I had not intended them.

That is to say, when I mentioned making your own guide, and it just being one person's take on it, I meant it quite literally, and not as any sort of defensive maneuver or attack.

Cheers.

Newbie question. Have made quite a few subscription orders through the bitcoin.com app. Just tried to buy more BTC and it says my account was “disabled for non compliance”. Is this something to be concerned about or whatever crypto sources can I use?

It's best practice to not send directly to v€ñd0r$ from an exçhäñgê (ie the place you bü¥ BTÇ) as the exçhäñgê$ may bãñ you for doing so. Best to purchase from the exçhäñgê (if you're now bãññëd on bìtç0iñ d0t c0m, you can buy it on Çã$h Ãpp or Ç0ìñbã$€, along with several other places) then send to your own êxtérñål w@ll€t (Çãké or €lêçtrüm are good options) then send to vêñd0r from the êxtérñål w@ll€t

yeah i can see that now actually, revolut works fine to send to some vendors but a few bit coin wallet addresses it lets you send one time only before it rejects the address for any more sending, i dont think i would like this to continue for a few reasons so external wallet is needed like you say

In addition to €xçh@ñgë$ baññiñg for sending to certain btç @ddres$€$, the ëxtérñâl wallet offers a bit more añ0n¥minit¥. I've seen sending directly from your €xçhäñg€ described as analogous to doing an ìrl trãñ$àçti0ñ in the l0bby or pãrkìñg l0t of your båñk.

  9. S @ samortal: Wheres feel_faith_heal i swear i seen them on here
  10. L @ Layne_Cobain: @Hankhill one of the best SB’s ever imo that goal line stance by the Ravens must still be in Jim Harbaughs nightmares considering he’d be a collegiate and pro championship winning coach
  11. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: gone.
  12. L @ lovOFopisndwn: rmp?
  13. L @ lovOFopisndwn: what happened to rocky
  14. L @ lovOFopisndwn: sorry
  15. L @ lovOFopisndwn: ?
  16. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: @Hankhill and everone else. Love the sports talk. Yeah Ray Lewis is GOAT at MLB in my opinion. Both him and Ed Reed are fist ballot hall of famers. But yeah, that last game was painful.
  17. Hankhill @ Hankhill: ravens used to be my favorite team and I still love em, but since I smoved havent watched a game since the superbowl 2013. Ray lewis was a goat fr in my opinion
  18. M @ MCAJB6122: Sorry tiquan I know that must've been frustrating for you but I personally really enjoyed the game 😊
  19. tiquanunderwood @ tiquanunderwood: @Layne_Cobain Honestly it is one of the worst ravens game I've watched since Lamar started in 2018, taking over for Flacco. Everything that could go wrong on offense did. We were moving the ball, but turning it over on flukey plays.
  20. L @ Layne_Cobain: @tiquanunderwood couldnt believe that bro I knew they’d be better with burrow back but you guys just kept shooting yourselves in the foot 5 turnovers 😬 but you still very alive after that win streak
