USPS Service Alerts

Last updated Jan. 28, 2015, 12 noon ET

USPS Service Alerts provide information to consumers, small businesses and business mailers about postal facility service disruptions due to weather-related and other natural disasters or events. Service alerts are done in near real time.

Residential customers and small businesses can use this website to learn if mail is being delivered, or if their Post Offices are open. Business mailers are provided more detailed information about USPS mail processing facilities, and the operating status of postal delivery units.

The Postal Service is in a service recovery phase in the Northeast region following Winter Storm Juno. We have resumed full service in most locations, but still have small pockets that continue to experience disruptions.

Processing operations and Business Mail Entry Units in all Northeast Area sites are operational today. Delivery and collection will occur where it is safe for our carriers to deliver and collect mail.

Retail units are open for normal operations and delivery/collection has resumed in the following locations:

  • Connecticut Valley (010-013, 060-069, 027-029)
  • Long Island (115, 117-119)
  • Westchester (105-109, 124-127)
  • Triboro (103, 110-114, 116)
  • New York (100-102, 104)
Greater Boston (014-026). We have restored retail, delivery and collections in most locations, except for power and Internet-impacted sites on Cape Cod, including Nantucket, Pocasset, Provincetown, Harwich, East Orleans and West Barnstable. Astor and Chelsea anticipate opening at midday. The post office on the campus of Boston College is closed, as is the college today.

Northern New England (offices in 047 ZIP Code areas only) opened at noon today for both retail and for delivery services. We have resumed operations for all other Northern New England ZIP Codes ( 030-046, 048-054; 056-059).

Northern New Jersey(070-076, 078-079, 088-089), retail and delivery operations were restored at 10 a.m. in most locations yesterday, Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Albany District (120-123, 128-139) and Caribbean District (006-009) were not impacted by the storm and had no storm-related service disruptions.

Please continue to check back for updates.
